What are your thoughts of daddy being present at the birth? Pros and cons?
I'm not pregnant but if and when I am I really don't want my husband at the birth (i'm sure I may change my mind as the time approaches!). I wouldn't want my mum or sister there either -too personal.
Sure I'd like hubby at the hospital so he can bond with the baby, and be the first one to hold him/her if for any reason I can't. But I just don't feel like he needs to witness me go through labour.
My friends say I'm selfish and hubby is (obviously) hurt. He already has a son - he said he wouldn't have missed him being born for the world.
What are your experiences/opinions?

Can you tell me what your schedule (feeding and napping) is like for your 13 month old??

What do you think it should look like if I want him to be up at about 8am (not too early)? (is a very good night sleeper).

My son seems to be trying to drop a nap, but I can't seem to keep him up long enough in the morning, so that he naps later, to have less time between nap and bedtime (to avoid too early of a bedtime)

I don't know if this makes sense to you as you read it, but I'm just confused on how to ease the transition without having him go to bed/wake too early (I work until 12am everynight and am hoping his schedule can be adjusted a bit-- I know I know, may be wishful thinking right ?)

Thanks for input you might share !

My 10 month son is a great eater in terms of he will eat almost anything but in a pureed format. He doesn't chew food but gulps it meaning he gags on lumps and is sick. I give him finger food every meal - toast, cucumber, veg etc.. and he can cope with this and will attempt to chew however can't cope if he bites off too big a piece. Anything off the spoon though he gulps as opposed to chews. Can anyone help?

...separation anxiety ? (hers, not mine) Like, when does it get worse from now on?
At this point she doesn't show it that much, during the day she'll sometimes disapear from my sight, she crawls in her room and start playing all byherself! :)
If we're with other people she doesn't cry if she's not in my arms and actually sometimes wants other people to hold her.
She usually gets "clingy" when she's tired. At night only a few times she's cried because I put her in her crib. And also very seldomly will wake up in the middle of the night and cry.

She recently started eating baby food. The first food was peas and pooped fine with the assistance of a little prune juice. I started giving her carrots and her daily bowel movements have stopped. I stopped giving her the carrots, continued the juice but still have not seen any results. She isn't straining to get it out but passes gas occasionally. Is this normal? I'm worried of course but have been told not to. Help!!!!!

My daughter has a very white tongue, at first the doctors said it was just milk, after 2 months it did not change so the doctors then concluded it might be thrush. They gave me medication but it didn't change anything. I am breastfeeding, has anyone else experienced a white tongue not due to thrush?

I heard that a daycare in New Orleans is charging mothers more money if they provide breastmilk for their babies instead of formula, because breastmilk is a biological fluid. First off, this is ridiculous, but, I want to know if it is true.

My nephew &his girlfriend had a baby in Dec. Childrens Aid has been involved since the birth of their daughter. Why and how they got involved I do not know. They are in their early 20s. His girlfriend has the mind of a 10 year old.She is a very sweet girl. She graduated from special ed.She cannot read or keep to a schedule. My nephew also has problems. He is bi polar and does not take any medication. He does not think he needs it.He has a very short fuse. They normally spend their time sleeping all day and playing video games all night. Recently,My nephew took on a desperately needed job and asked me to watch his girlfriend and baby while he works.According to him she cannot spend more than 1/2 an hour at a time alone with the baby. I have 4 children of my own , and a husband who is just taking a fit over this.I bring her and the baby to my house and supervise her. The mother doesn't seem to be bonding with the baby. I am vey worried about the welfare of this beautiful baby girl.

I just wanted to find out two things. Does anyone know where to find a casein baed formula (this is for hungrier babies aka hungry baby milk to make them feel full)? Or can someone give me the name of one preferably that is located in US...I found one site but it is in the UK and shipping to the States is crazy. Also what age can I start on rice cereal to put in my babies bottles?

Just to give some background my baby is almost 6 wks old and eats 4 - 6 oz formula every two hours like clock work and weighs 12 lbs already. And yes I do try and give him more and he still eats every two hours I can get it any longer he starts to scream.

I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

Okay...I haven't smoked any in a couple of years (for various reasons) but after I give birth to my daughter in July if I smoked any....would it affect my breast milk? Just need to know because I won't touch it if it will, I have no problem waiting another year.

And for anyone who wants to judge me....the way I see it, GOd put it here (even though I should probably cook with it because of the health concerns of smoke) but on rare occasion when we have a baby sitter for the kids and the rare moment to spend alone from our hetic (and very responsible lives) we sometimes enjoy sitting back smoking one on our back porch thank you very much.
