im confused -- i read all over the place that a nine month old is supposed to have baby food 3 times a day but that a nine month old is also supposed to have about 24-26 oz a day to support brain growth. my baby cannot drink that much in one day let alone eat AND drink that much.
i guess my question would be... about how many ounces of formula should a nine month old (wasn't a premie) consume daily?

There is a lady who is giving away a free cat in my apartment building and I am interested in taking it (as I LOVE cats.) But, me and my husband would like to have a baby in the next 2-3 years. We have talked about this before, and we both decided that we would like to have kids and a cat, but ultimately, we planned to have kids first and later on getting a cat for our family, as people have told us that it's not healthy to have pets around newborns. If we did take this cat, we would not want to get rid of it at the time we had the baby, we would want to keep it. Would it be safe to have the cat around the baby, or is it best to wait to get a cat later on?

For hundreds of years women had no option but to breastfeed their babies because there was no formula. So does that mean that babies were meant to only be breastfed? And with formula becoming available in the last few decades if it is second choice in feeding why does it appear to be little difference in breast & bottle fed infants. I know everyone who breast feeds says their kids are healthy and smart etc, and so do the formula feeding moms. Heck I was formula fed and I am healthy and smart. We know what scientists say but does it really make a difference? If breastfeeding the the best way to go, why do formula fed babies turn out fine? I'm just asking out of curiosity.

Everything was going perfect with my newborn and her bowels. She was having the right amount of mustard-like stools everyday. But now that she is 5 weeks, she has went for 4 days without having a bowel movement. She has been letting very stinky toots though! I called her pediatrician about it, but she said sometimes breastfed babies will only go 2-3 times per week at her age. I am still worried about her though. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. She seems content most of the time. But, I also noticed just yesterday that my breasts are smaller. They feel so much less full then I've been used to. I'm scared that my milk supply has somehow slowed. But, like I said - she seems content. She also has plenty of wet diapers throughout the day. Any thoughts?

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I read somewhere (on someone elses answered question) that if you drink too much milk when you are pregnant the baby will come out hating milk? or being lactose intollerant? is that true?!?!

I drink about 1 and a half gallons of milk a week, and I love cheese! and I also take a calcium supplement (along with my prenatals) ..

is my son going to come out hating milk? or being lactose intollerant?

anyone experience that? or drink a lot of milk when they were pregnant?

thanks!

Looking for those moms whose babies exhibited something similar to offer some first hand info to new mom. When my baby was 2 months, this was her sleep pattern: 7:30pm - midnight - 3am - 5am - 7am eating at each waking. Now that she's 3 months, it's 9pm - 2am - 5am - 7am eating at each waking. One night, randomly, she slept from 9pm - 5am straight, then straight till 9am but hasn't done it since. I wish she did this all the time! Is it a sign of what's to come? Anyone else's baby do something like this? What was the outcome and when?
