Unless your baby was very small at birth, 12 lbs @ 7 mos is not a normal weight. What has her doc said? If she hasn't gained weight for this long, he should be very concerned. Your doctor needs to find out if there is a medical reason that she is not gaining or if she just isn't eating enough.

i have a 4 month old and she only weighs 11 pounds but she is 26 inches long which is off the charts for her age not every baby has to be 17-20 pounds at 4or6 months some baby's are just going to be petite she only gained 2 pounds in two months but she eats just fine unless you notice she is not eating i would not worry about it not every baby is going to be the same.

No, that is not normal. What does you doctor have to say about it, if he's not doing anything then you need a second opinion. My daughter is 4 months and weighs a little over 13 pounds

All of the books say how much a child should gain each month. Is she healthy? My daughter is 1 and the dr says she is under weight and short but they arent worried about it. I would make an appoit. to see her dr. talk to him about it. Since she probaly isnt walking yet she cant be burning off that much of it so, she should probaly gain at least a pound or two in the last 2 months.

First... DON'T PANIC. There's lots of reasons a baby can not gain weight for 2 months.

Second... See your doctor. Only a doctor will be able to tell you if this is a problem.

Are you serious? What does the Doctor say? No I don't think that's normal at all. But I'm not a Doctor and I don't play one on T.V.... so, ask the baby's Doctor.

She is pretty small for her age. My daughter is only 6mo and weighs almost 17lbs which still only puts her in the 60th percentile. I'd talk to your dr or the nurse at the office to see if there anything you should do for your baby.

how tall is she? if her height is proportional to her weight, then she is fine. my daughter is really small too, she is 18 months old and is barely at 20 lbs. but her height is proportional so the doc said it is fine. go to the website below and put in her information, if her height and weight are the same or very close to being the same she is fine.
