Usually after the second year.....then it is two year old, three year old, etc....if your 240 month old is acting up, kick them out the house...that is not child abuse, that is teaching them responsibility.

I am going on the assumption that you meant to type 24 not 240. I stopped saying month old at about that time. I just started saying 2-yr-old. Now is the time for time outs. One minute per year of age. But even more productive is to keep a close eye on his/her behavior patterns. Is the bad behavior more likely to erupt when it's near naptime or mealtime? When there are other children around? Have you tried to get in one too many errands? Sometimes you can see it coming and head it off at the pass by distraction. Remember, too, that little ones don't really develop impulse control until about age 3. That doesn't mean that you don't discipline, it just means you expect to have to do it over and over again. Also, I don't know if behaving badly includes hurting other children, but if it does, ignore your own child and make a big fuss over the injured party. Children hate when others are the center of attention and they will try to avoid that situation as much as possible.

I think most people stop saying **month old around the age of 2 years. Each month is so significant to a new mother and each month they develop so many new skills. And moms are proud of the age their child develops and the skills they have.
Example: When my youngest grandson started walking at 6 months. People would always ask, 'How old is he, he walks so good'. When you say 6 mos. then you find out they thought he was so much older. Everyone thinks..smart kid!
Then when he is acting up in the store and someone looks at you and ask how old is your baby? You say 15 mos. Then they think, 'OK, he is still just a baby. He is probably tired'. And you don't feel so bad because he is still so young.
People use the months to gauge the development level of babies and toddlers.
Just wait, your day is coming.
By the way my 600 month old husband has been acting up lately. I think he just wants a spanking! LOL

Usually somewhere between 18 months and two years, I've noticed. By the time they're two years old, they're no longer an infant, and you don't see so many developmental milestones at such close intervals as you do in the first 18 to 24 months.

Because at the younger ages, each month is significant. This question could only be asked by someone who's never had a baby. I stopped at about 18 months.

Tell him to get a job and a life!! lol. People use months because after a year there are still things that go by months clothing for example so it is just easier to use that system.
