No. Junior is only if the names are exact. It is a designation to distinguish between the two. My father and I share the same first name, but not the middle name...I am not a junior...I am just me.

Mine is. But the father has a middle name and my son has only the first letter. Example: Michael Darren Johnson and Michael D. Johnson. Not sure if has to be the same all the way, I know it usually is. But no one stopped us.

regularly talking using Junior is barely mandatory whilst the names journey thoroughly, ie John David Smith, Sr., and his son John David Smith Junior. If the names do not journey, then the youngster is technically not a junior because of the fact using the suffix isn't mandatory because of the fact their names do not journey. If the youngster is named the strategies-blowing comparable because of the fact the grandfather (residing) then regularly the youngster will become the 2d, or as an occasion John Andrew Smith and his grandson John Andrew Smith, II. i don't think of you are able to upload the suffix on the tip of the call because of the fact it is going after your final call, meaning you may could substitute your final call to function it, and it would particularly be a hyphen. So in short, a baby that would not have the comparable same call as his father isn't seen a junior, they only share a universal call.

It is your child's name - you call the shots. If you want him to be called Michael Darren Johnson Jr. go ahead. You can even put it on the birth certificate. If you do not add Junior to his birth certificate, then TECHNICALLY he is not a junior. But there will still be people that will probably call him Michael Junior anyways.

My husband is also a Michael Johnson. His middle name is different from his fathers, but he is considered a junior... So, if you want your child to be called a junior, its all up to you!

Nope....my little brother has the same name as his dad but different middle name therefore not making him a junior or 2nd.
My husband is the 2nd with his name being the exact same as his dads and if we ever have a boy he will be the 3rd haveing the exact same name as his dad and grandpa.

No. Dynasties are built on exact duplications. So if your name is James Peter Murphy, and your son's name is James Peter Murphy, then he's a Jr. Otherwise, no dice.
