His breath stinks, even after brushing with toddler toothpaste, and he's passing a lot of really nasty gas. His daddy thinks it could be a reaction to the milk. What do you guys think? Did that happen to any of your kids?

My son seems to pitch a fit constantly when told no or taken away from something. He hits at me and throws himself on the floor. What can I do to help this? He is still a baby so time out is not really an option yet, he cant even really sit in a chair on his own.

My first born son didn't start to teethe until he was 4 months old. My second son is only 5 1/2 weeks old and he was born with a tooth. He's been really fussy like he is starting to teethe, but i didn't think it could start this early. Is it possible?

When should I start my 4 1/2 month old on baby cereal? He's now half breastmilk (I pump) fed and half formula fed. What age did you start your baby on cereal? And how do I go about starting him on it. What type or brand should I use? He now has 4 oz of breastmilk (or formula) about every 3 hours during the day, 4 hours at night. He's gaining weight just fine on what he's eating now, he's more than 15 pounds.

Do I start with only the cereal, when do I start giving him the jar baby food?

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

My manager has recently told two young mothers that I work with that they are only allowed to nurse or pump their milk in the bathroom. To me this seems very unsanitary and unfair. Are there any laws that prevent this in the State of New Mexico or nationally?

Month One

Mommy
I am only 4 inches long
but I have all my organs.
I love the sound of your voice.
The sound of your heart beat
is my favorite lullaby.

Month Two

Mommy
today I learned how to suck my thumb.
If you could see me
you could definitely tell that I am a baby.
I'm not big enough to survive outside my home though.
It is so nice and warm in here.

Month Three

You know what Mommy
I'm a boy!!
I hope that makes you happy.
I always want you to be happy.
I don't like it when you cry.
You sound so sad.
It makes me sad too
and I cry with you even though
you can't hear me.

Month Four

Mommy
my hair is starting to grow.
It is very short and fine
but I will have a lot of it.
I spend a lot of my time exercising.
I can turn my head and curl my fingers and toes
and stretch my arms and legs.
I am becoming quite good at it too.

Month Five

You went to the doctor today.
Mommy, he lied to you.
He said that I'm not a baby.
I am a baby Mommy, your baby.
I think and feel.
Mommy, what's abortion?

Month Six

I can hear that doctor again.
I don't like him.
He seems cold and heartless.
Something is intruding my home.
The doctor called it a needle.
Mommy what is it? It burns!
Please make him stop!
I can't get away from it!
Mommy! HELP me!

Month Seven

Mommy
I am okay.
I am in Jesus's arms.
He is holding me.
He told me about abortion.
Why didn't you want me Mommy?

Every Abortion Is Just . . .

One more heart that was stopped.
Two more eyes that will never see.
Two more hands that will never touch.
Two more legs that will never run.
One more mouth that will never speak.

If you're against abortion, post this as...
I dont care if I lose friends over this

My 8 week old has been on gas drops, Alimentum, and now the doc thinks she has acid reflux and wants me to put in 1 tablespoon of rice cereal per ounce of formula every feeding.... does this make sense? I really dont think that its working.... I dont know what to do. I just gave her a bottle of Nutrimigen to see if that helps but she is in pain all of the time...

We have been having a hard time getting our five week old daughter to sleep in her crib. 75% of the time she ends up sleeping in our bed as my fiance has to get up early and it's a two hour long process to get her to sleep.
We have tried putting something that smells like us in her crib, as well as giving her a pacifier but nothing works. Even if we wait until she is passed out completely she wakes up right as we are putting her down.

Now normally I wouldn't mind her sleeping in our bed as I tend to wake up everytime she moves or makes a sound but the other night I fell into a deep sleep and though nothing bad happened I fear that I am getting too comfortable with her sleeping in our bed and that if I continue to fall into a deep sleep everynight I may end up rolling on her and I do not want that to happen.

Please any ideas would be appreciated, however let me say I refuse to let her cry it out in her crib. She is only a month old and I don't want her to feel abandoned.

My husbands mother and grandmother wants me to go to work and put my 2 month old in daycare. My husband makes enough money for me to stay home with our baby but we don't have a lot of extra money for things other than bills. Should I go back to work? My husband will be ok with my decision. I just don't want to leave my baby. What do you think?

I was in a store once and a baby was looking at me and then she started to smile. There are also cases where I may tickle a baby's feet and he or she will laugh and sometimes, they will do nothing at all. There was even one baby who smiled everytime I came by during a wedding (everytime I walked by that table and he saw me, he went from a normal state to a smiling state). Do babies know what they are doing and know what to do when a situation comes along?
