It's from friction. When he moves his head against something, he's pulling out the hair...his crib, car seat, your arm, etc. It's normal, harmless, and will correct itself when he gets a little older.

Alot of infants lose their at first because the hair they are born with is mostly the hair they grew in utero, at will probably be lighter too. They also lose hair that rubs off from laying down all the time, once the baby sitting up more the hair will grow back.

It's for the same reason that all babies have bald spots. The baby hair that they are born with needs to come out before their other hair grows through.

It's completely natural so relax, and don't worry!

lol, I had that problem when I was a baby. Not sure why exactly, but I had a beautiful head of hair when i got older, so I don't think it's anything to worry about. :)
It's probably just because babies hair is very fine and easily damaged. btw, put a hat on him when you take pictures(until his hair grows back), so he won't be teased later! :D

Babies naturally lose their "baby hair" at about this age. However, your baby is also probably moving his head around more and that will rub some hair off too.
