My five month old refused rice cereal about a month ago, and just reading answers to a previous question is leading me to beleive that Oatmeal is the opposite of rice cereal. True or False?

I have a 3 mos old, who I have just put in the crib. in the bassinette she had a blanket on top of the bassinette, but in the crib I was told no blankets. I just have her in footsies...she seems warm enough. Do you just put your babies in crib w/no blankets?

I started my little girl on cereal when she was 4 1/2 mths, at 6 months I've introduced green beans, squash, and sweet potatoes homemade. I've also introduced 'veggies & turkey' to her just the other day. I have not been waiting the recommended 2-3 days to see if she is allergic. I don't know if that's good or not. She seems ok and I don't want to feed her plain cereal for 2-3 days without antyhing else. Any suggestions/advice?

My daughter is 6 months old. I tried to switch her to bottle feeding since she was 3 months. I would express my milk and try and feed her or get someone else to feed her. She refuses it everytime. i can count how many time she actually drank from a bottle (5 times since she was three months). I need help. She's got 2 bottom teeth breaking in, one top on cutting through, she bites down sometimes and pulls, it's very painful. We have a few weddings this summer that they don't allow children/babies, I need her to take to the bottle very soon. I've tried everything. HELP.

Does anybody know if there's any good books on how to deal with colicky babies? I don't know if mine has colic...I think she does sometimes. But just now I realized that when I put her in her swing crying after I fed her, and burped her, she stopped crying and quickly went to sleep. It's not the first time she's done this. Was she just being fussy, or she just likes the swing at times instead of my arms? And there's no way I'm going to let her cry it out so she can go to sleep. I don't believe in that, even if people say that it's necessary, blah blah blah.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I am looking for baby gear (stroller or travel system, car seat, playyard, bouncer, highchair, etc....). Is there a brand that anyone would recommend or any brand to steer clear of? Is there a web site I can access to find out the safety rating on any of these items?
Thanks in advance,

Our daughter Emma is doing great with sleeping. We are at the point though where she needs to be able to cry herself back to sleep. She wakes up twice per night and just screams. We go in every 5 mins and soothe her, and she eventually falls asleep, usually within 15 mins. We are wondering if we should stop the pacifier at the same time because she cries because it falls out and can't get it yet, or cries with it in and is just crying to go back to sleep. So, if it is because of the pacifier, it is a catch 22...and makes the falling asleep worse. Any thoughts? And please don't make me feel bad about the crying it out. Emma is the most loved baby and is laughing, smiling, so affectionate, etc. We don't let her get hysterical, it breaks our hearts. So just know my question is about the pacifier...thanks

She's 10 months old and she won't let me put her in her crib!!! I swear I did everything we always do: we didn't go out today, I played with her all afternoon, gave her dinner, gave her a bottle, cuddle with her, gave her medicine for her teeth, rocked her, etc... Well, three times so far she started to scream... she stands up in her crib, and screams til I take her out, to make sure she's ok, and then when I realize she is in fact, ok, i try to calm her down and the second time she started to cry i actually gave her some more formula, in case she was stil a bit hungry... I rocked her a little just to make her drowsy, and when I put her down, she started to wail. Then I took her out again, cuddle with her (no rocking), she fell asleep this time, and as soon as she felt me putting her in her crib, she started to scream!
Seriously, I don't know how to handle this... I need some sound advice.

Thank you!

Ok, here is my story - two weeks before my due date I lost mucous plug in the afternoon and at midnight I started having contractions.. in early morning, they were 5 minutes apart, so I went to the hospital. They kept me on monitors for 8 hours, I was in such a pain, but wasn't dilating, so they said it was false labor and discharged me. As soon as I got home my water broke and the contractions got stronger. So I got back to the hospital in couple of hourse, but although i was having pretty strong contractions, it didn't make any changes on my cervix. So we waited another 10 hours before they decided to give me pitocin. It worked really slowly and my water became infected and turned green, also I got very high fever and my blood pressure dropped to 60/30, so I got in vitro antibiotics. I started pushing after 10 hours on pitocin, but the nurse wanted me to push with every other contraction and since they were 4 minutes apart {even with the pitocin}, it took forever. When the baby's
