I have a 3 mos old, who I have just put in the crib. in the bassinette she had a blanket on top of the bassinette, but in the crib I was told no blankets. I just have her in footsies...she seems warm enough. Do you just put your babies in crib w/no blankets?

I always just used footie pajamas until a year old. You do not want to overheat a baby, either. It can contribute to sids. No blankets for now. Congrats on your new baby!

I was told a LIGHT blanket is ok after they are able to roll over, because then the risk of SIDS decreases dramatically. I started putting one on mine at about 4 months. I used a long blanket and tucked it in the sides of the crib. She couldn't even roll around in the blanket then.

My 6 month old sleeps with a blanket. I also use the triangle stoppers, I tuck the two sides under her over the stoppers. The blanket goes under her arms too. My sister in law her son is completely swaddled. He won't sleep any other way. He looks like al ittle piggy in a blanket. It's up to you and what you are comfortable with. Check up on her once in a while if you are concerned.Good luck.

my son is 7 weeks now. He sleeps in the crib in between the little foam thing that wont let him roll (lol sorry i dont know the name for it lol) and i just wrap a thin blanket or a receiving blanket around his legs. most of the time he sleeps in a onsie or a long sleeve onsie. I was told not to over dress him? but so far so good, so i guess its ok hehe!!

take care & good luck

don't call child protective services, but i just put my 5 month old in his crib with a blanket! i make sure i swaddle him with his arms out so his weight is on the blanket so it cannot get over his head. my son couldn't sleep soundly without the swaddle effect because his arms and legs were flopping all over the place!

If she seems warm enough, let her be in just her footies. The reason why we don't use blankets is because the risk of suffocation, SIDS goes up. If she is not warm enough, put her in a snug sleep sack. Good Luck!

I would go with a sleepsack, or footies...
I put my daughter to sleep in a onesie and a pair of socks.. I just turned the heat up a little bit- she slept fine.
Please, dont use blankets though.. even though some babies grew up fine and healthy when their parents used them.. some didnt, and.. the risk just isnt worth it.

if your baby doesn't move around alot in her crib then i would just put her in footsie pf and a light receiving blanket on her but only put up to her waist so if she does move it won't get near her face.

I have always used a blanket--that is my own personal choice their little hands and feet get too cold without a blanket.

my 3 month old daughter sleeps in a light sleep suit and a baby sleeping bag and is fine, too adjust for warmer/cooler nights you just alter what your baby is wearing and the are great if you are still doing night feeds as your not pulling your baby out of a warm bed
