I presume that you are referring to the practice of determining the gender of a fetus and if undesirable (which always means a female), aborting it. Well, it is very difficult because preference for boys is as ingrained in the Indian culture as casteism. Although some states have started taking measures such as banning medical procedures that determine the gender, and I believe it is a step in the right direction; they are extremely hard to enforce. Banning abortion altogether is also not an answer. We need a total change of the mindset. I'll spare you some of the horror stories I've read about this heinous practice.
The next time grandma or some aunt informs you in a disappointing tone that a certain so-and-so had a baby girl, denounce her. (Yes, it is ironic that more often its the women who are the worse perpetrators). Refrain from giving or receiving a cent (well, a paisa) in dowry the next time there's a wedding in your family.
I must mention that the problem is not limited to India. There is also a serious gender imbalance in countries like China where there is a similar preference for male babies.

I do not understand why a baby girl is killed in the womb itself, against the national law. The Doctors doing such crime should be punished. In fact most of our people does not understand that it is girls who love and look after their parents than the boys. Boys very often lands in very delicate position, after marriage. Whether they listen their parents or better half. Finally they are forced to listen and go according to their better halves. Other wise laws of our land are always in favour of ladies. Almost all female are adamant and stick on with their guns. A girl grown up with their parents, finds it difficult to change when she comes to her in-laws house. Some times the customs, systems, etc varies, so she is targeted there. There starts the trouble. Once we all understand these basic issues, one will not think of spoiling a conceived, if she/he knows it is female. It is also against population male/female ratio. So please educate all. Let us accept and bring up happily boys and girls.

No.
Our legal and penal systems couldn't handle the volume of prosecutions for baby killing before birth. In a single case the mother and abortionist would be charged with murder. Then the father, parents, preacher and other relatives could possibly be charged as accomplices to murder. You could have several trials for a single baby murder. If guilty all of them would be sent to prison for several years. The US would have to double the number of judges, court houses and prisons to handle all the baby killers.
Let God deal with them.

It is catching up to a lot of cultures because now they face a bride shortage for the sons that they valued so much - advocate, protest and inform.
Find a way to open or support safe havens for these babies so that parents won't abort their girl fetuses.

we can infact we should do it. but the need for a domain for your name, or due to the drowry systems, parents or people prefer to abort the baby girl instead of having them... once greedy people will stop the dowry system, the killing of innocent babies will also be stopped.. but it cannot be done by one or two people.... the whole country to should be made aware of it
