you would be best to start with a juice like grape....apple surprisingly has more acid...mix 2-4 ounces of juices with 2-4 ounces of spring water (not nursery water as most of those have nasty things for baby)....base the measurements on the size of 'bottle' your baby would take... 50/50 mix

Some people frown upon juice early or they water it down. Honestly, I didn't and my two girls are happy and very healthy. To start I bought them the Gerber juices. They're tiny bottles and you can actually find lids that screw right onto the bottles and make them into miniature sippies.
According to their doctor, what I did was just fine. However, when starting juice, make sure that you don't give too much because it can cause diahrrea in infants and young children if they get too much. Just start with a little bit at a time.
After they were a year old, I started giving them Juicy Juice juices. Both of my kids love them.
Good luck!

Your baby is not ready for juice, It's all sugar. Even if it's 100% juice, it's bad.
I recently asked my mom's group leader (an RN) if juice was healthier if I made it myself. She said no because when you juice an apple, for example, you are just getting the most sugary part and none of the fiber, which aids in breaking the sugar down.
IMO your baby doesn't need anything but breastmilk or formula. When he/she is ready for something else, get him/her hooked on water. This is the best time to form healthy habits. If you don't ever (ok..not EVER) introduce a child to junk food or sugary drinks, they won't know the difference. (I'm talking about infants and toddlers, not grade school kids. I'm sure they will know the difference!!)

I personally am against juice, especially so young. A 6 mo old should only drink breast milk or formula.
Juice is empty calories and bad for the teeth.
My daughter is 20 mo old and started juice just a couple of months ago, and only because she saw her big bro drinking it. I always water down the juice.

you know what much as the juice sounds like a great idea, IMO the best thing to do is just give water.......lots of the other stuff even the baby stuff has sugar [some with LOTS of sugar in it]
On the rare occasions gave anything other than water / milk I would just add a drop of pure apple juice to change the water colour and not much more.
trust me NOT a tree hugger etc.....just see all the rubbish they put in stuff aimed at kids these days and its scary

Apple juice, about 1 part of juice and 3 parts of water. Don't give him orange juice, it is too early for that and it is too sour.

if you want to give your baby juice you really shouldnt do it out of a bottle. i would give the baby a cup with apple juice 50/50 with water thats what i did with my son and he started with a cup at 5 months. but i always water it done, too much sugar in it i was told by my sons nutritionalist. its up to you if he/she can eat food they can surely have juice.
