my son drank 2 ounces of formula every 2-3 hours until he was about 3 weeks old. If he is staying awake more at night try to keep him awake during the day so that he gets on schedule.

Baby is only 10 days old. They sleep ALOT at this point. I would think 2 oz every 2-3 hrs would be good. I breastfeed all 3 of mine for the first couple of months, so I do not know ounce wise how much they were taking.
If you are really concerned call your pediatrician.

I think that sounds normal. They are really sleepy for the first couple of weeks and tend to fall asleep while feeing. At that age they should be eating every 2-3 hours anyway so I would not worry. If your baby was not getting enough he/she would let you know. If your baby is sleeping and content between feeds try not to worry. My Second daughter is 4 months and she only drinks 4oz every 2-3 hours. Good luck and congrats! Try and rest while baby sleeps.

With my son he started out drinking only 2 oz ever 2-3 hrs and newborns sleep alot also so its normal that they sleep so much and don't eat that much. You have to remember their stomach is only the size of their fist and their fists aren't that big. With my youngest which is 2 mths old he didn't start drinking 4 oz till he was almost a month old.

That is totally normal. He'll start eating more...not much...dont over feed or all he will do it puke. 2 oz is PERFECT for a 10 day old. Get a chart from your DR. So you know how much and how often to feed.
DO NOT LET HIM GO MORE THEN 4 HOURS WITHOUT EATTING! This can lead to LOW BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS! and it DANGEROUS!
Try stimulating him more during the day. When he wants to sleep try and keep him up for another 5-10 minutes.

If your bottle feeding, he should be drinking at 3-4 ounces by now, but eating every 4 hours. Try to get your baby to go longer periods between meals. He may be eating little because he eats more frequently. And as long as your baby is gaining weight, you have nothing to worry about.
I used to occupy my newborns by giving them a spongebath, or taking them out for a walk. Anything to stretch the time out. They were all going a full 8 hours without a feeding by the time they were 2 months old.

That sounds like a normal newborn baby. In time he will eat more and go for longer intervals between. A baby this young will not sleep through the night because he needs to eat too frequently.
Do you have an experienced mom you can talk to in real life? Sounds like you need someone you can trust to talk to around.

According to www.kellymom.com a baby only need 1 oz an hour so 24 oz in a day. They have a lot of other neat things there also you could read up on. It might answer any other question you might have about the babys feeding also.

When I had my last baby they gave me an instrustion manual with her (They really did) I thought it was dumb, but I found this interesting.
On Days 1 and 2 babys tummy is the size of a chick pea or hazelnut
3-7 days size of a cherry
2-5weeks its the size of a walnut
I found that helpful when I started thinking she wasn't getting enough.

nicely, if it in basic terms got here out provide it a quick time and it will parent it out. you're able to try putting its face good close to the nipple and make confident the different kittens are not pushing it out of how. you're able to could bottle feed it with a watch dropper if it would not parent it out quickly. It would not take long for a new child kitten to die without milk. perchance like purely 0.5 an afternoon. you're able to could get kitten milk from the vet to feed it.
