-walk around the house and show him/her things (pictures on walls, lamps, anything, it's all new to him/her)
- show baby their refection in the mirror (they won't know it's themself)
- an activity mat where they lay under and there's dangling toys for them to look at (too young to play with them, but bright colors will attract his/her attention)
- sing him/her songs
- read books, even if it's just the simplest of books
- hold a toy in front of him/her and slowly move it around, even moving it behind an object and then making it reappear
- play music (babies like classical) and sway to the music with baby
- play "itsy, bitsy spider", "this little piggie" type games
You're baby will have a short attention span, so keep playtime short at first. Might be only 4-5 minutes. And if you notice him/her rubbing his/her eyes, or turning away from you then baby's probably had enough and wants quiet time. If baby gets over stimulated he/she is likely to cry.
Have fun and Congratulations on your new baby!

Play peek a boo...make faces at her and see if she mocks your faces...get a mirror and let her look at herself baby's love that...get a small rattle and teach her to hold it. Sing to her baby's love that also..my husband sits in front of the computer holding the baby with music playing while they look through pictures. Are you feeding her baby food yet? You should be starting on the veggies ...or mixing a little formula with dry baby ceral to make mush and feed her that...feeding time is fun too...enjoy every moment..it goes so fast.
I have a 13 month old it's so fun playing with your baby!

There is not much stimulation you can provide that they will respond to at this age. Sing, talk, and cuddle him right now. They love to hear your voice and feel your touch. This is the time they begin to evaluate their trust in you and how and when you respond to their needs.
Touch the baby alot and let him feel different types of touches and you can always read to him at any age!

I think it's all about getting him used to his surroundings and his own body for the time being, asshole.
You might want to put objects in his hands, and let him feel. There are a lot of fun things you can do.
Take care and God Bless you and your new arrival!
Cheers,
Kermit

Its never too early to read to a child. Just holding them and being close to them is good. Get a blanket and lay it on the floor and then get down on the floor with the baby.

My son is 11 weeks and he loves to go on walks in his stroller or just sitting in my lap and I sing to him... Doesn't take too much to keep him occupied :) ... He also likes to have his big sister (who's 6) read him stories and he looks at the pictures.

Feed, diaper, burp, feed, diaper, burp. Sing, sing, rock rock.
You need to try to get some sleep.
Warning: don't, do not put the kid on his stomach.
He's too young wait until about 3 months.
