Other than the doctor everything else was fine. The dr insisted that all women have enemas so that he didn't get pooped on. He tried to give me one when I had been crapping my brains out for two weeks and I told him that I would shove it up his @$$ sideways if he even came near me with it. After that all was well.

I was a little worried about the hospital I delivered at because I had heard some bad rumors about the nurses. They were all untrue. I had a wonderful experience. I didn't ever want to leave because all nurses were so nice and helpful.

My first child? No i did not like the nurse that subbed in part way through. She was a crank and she didnt care. She never looked at you when you were talking. She was too busy with paper work to talk to me. I got mad! Then she finally turned around!

My second child, i delivered by myself. I told them it was time, a mother just knows these things. They didnt listen, wouldnt check to see how dialated I was. After a while i got mad they checked and said oh sure enough, ill call the doctor. I got tired of waiting. So i startd pushing. The nurse said dont you push, and i said, iimmm puuushing! lol It was funny. i delivered the baby on my own before the doctor arrived!

My children are 4.5 and 2.5 now! My how time flies!

I have 2 babies. My first was at a Birth center. I was there for 4 hours. Delivered and went home as soon as I was ready.
(also, co-pay only cost me $300.)
My second baby was induced in a hospital, with a midwife also, and I was able to deliver in a tub. Which was fantastic. There is nothing like having to fight gravity while trying to push out a 10lb baby.
But the tub experience was sensational. It made all the contractions much easier. (not non-existant),
But, costs were much higher...$2000.00

The labor and delivery part of the hospital was great! Although the mother and baby care unit was horrible! The nurses always got me mixed up with other patients, they never got anything I asked for and they weren't very friendly...if they were friendly it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing! I did not like the hospital (rockyview in Calgary, Canada). It was full of student nurses that drove me nuts and the hospital was under renovations so I got to listen to jack hammering the whole time I was in there. I was happy to be home!

I was very happy when I had my second son. I love my doctor, and the staff was great as well. The first one was good, but I had a run in with a VERY rude nurse.

Yes, the nurse who attended my labor and delivery was an absolute saint! And one of my recovery nurses had been there at my prenatal appointments and she was a dear too. When I left another nurse hugged me and told me she'd miss me. They were wonderful.

Yes, the hospital we were at was very good. Everyone was very nice, nicer than expected perhaps even. Very good experience.
