Pregnancy & Parenting - 18 December 2007

My 5 yr old son got in big trouble for trying to steal a piece of candy at Wal-mart after I said he could not have any. So, since he was so stingy that he tried to steal I told him to pick out one of his presents under the tree and give it to me, and I plan on taking it back to the store. So he has been sad all day about it. Stealing was very bad and I want him to learn his lesson, but he really is upset about the present. I feel like the Grinch. Should I allow him to have it back? He would have to earn it somehow. Or should I stick to my guns because he tried to steal?

its got the liquid stuff in it, i boiled it and i bought it months ago, but i forgot about it, and just opened it up. should i return it, i don't know where i bought it nor do i have the receipt.

I mean, I can understand different opinions about abortion...however, I do not believe that harrassing a woman in any way, or choosing to kill a doctor that works at an abortion clinic, valid in any way. Why would you go out of your way to hurt somebody if you are such a christian? Even vulgar language and claiming that people are baby killers...it's just pathetic. If people are anti-abortion that's fine...but I don't think people have the right to try and ram their opinion down everybodies throat because "God" doesn't believe in abortions or they themselves think its wrong. Why can't people just accept the fact that there are different opinions and everybody has the right to choose?

These people are just a bunch of crazies! What do you think?

tatoo while breastfeeding? It's a no-brainer to know it's not safe during pregnancy, but I was wondering if the whole toxic-shock thing would be relevant in breastfeeding. If its safe to use tampons...then wouldnt it that be safe? I'm just wondering.

watching T.V shows now a days? I mean you are watching a cartoon and when you less expect there is a commercial for I love New York with her showing her behind on TV, or a commercial comes up that you just wonder if you are supposed to lock all your channels and only rent videos cause you know that there is not commercial and " no danger " How do you feel about television now a days, I mean I love New York, Flavor of love, Jerry Springer, Maury and his paternity tests and other shows that I can not name cause there are so many, how do you feel about television now a days and should I block all channels and only rent when I have kids? Even on SpongeBob Sometimes they say a few things that I don't think are 2 or 3 year old appropriate!

My baby has a temp of 101 rectally.........of course I will monitor it and I will contact my Dr if it goes over 102.......I did give him some tylenol. I am always afraid to just give meds. Is this ok? He is teething but I read that teething does not cause elevated temp. I just get so nervous when I think something is wrong with him.......

This morning my 3 year old was at the front door looking outside and there was a aboriginal man walking past and my 3 year old was saying to my 2 year old there is the chocolate man.... my daughter is 4 months old, and i want to start her on solids. i know to start with baby rice cereal, wait a week, then move on to a new food. what foods come next? how much and how often will she eat? when can i just give her a little of everything that i am eating, pureed? my boyfriend says we should start giving her 1 tbsp of each item in each meal, that is what his mom did, and i want to, but i heard its bad... please shed some light for me.

I just heard how cruel the abortion is. I'm against it, but if they have to do it cause of the mothers health, why dont they take the baby out through c-section and then abort the baby with some injection?

theres this girl i know, shes so spoiled ! i mean she has 19 pairs of uggs! [seriously] She will NEVER repeat an oufit, has an endless shopping budget & she has like a million accesories! It gets worse, she has a Juicy Couture Binder, Backpack, & locker erase board & magnets! Even Juicy Pencils, erasers & booksox!! Her mom is a hairstylist so she always looks great & her makeup is flawless. My friends son was circumcised at birth, however he just turned 6 months old and at his last doctors apt. the doctor had said the foreskin is reattaching to the head of his penis. She said his doctor acted like it was pretty normal and to keep pulling the skin back gently at every diaper change and putting vasaline on it each time. We were just wondering if anybody else has had this problem? And if so, how long did it take it to unattach? Thanks

I have a 4 month old and I recently bought some organic baby cereal. I mixed it with her formula and fed her. She seemed to spit it out a lot. The box said not for infants under 9 mos. Also, whehn I put it in her bottle, it clumps up like oatmeal. Is this normal? What cereal should I use??

It really erks me, I'm engaged and pregnant and that's fine by me. Just because ones not married does not mean that couples are not commited to each other like married people are. Come on people it's the 21st century here, we are not living in the 1950's any more. It's not the worst thing in the world so why do people make such a big deal out of it?

yesterday and this morning i had been having ALOT of braxton hicks, and now im feeling all crampy down there like period cramping
im 38 weeks pregnant and just hope and pray that this is really it. as ive heard this is the first signs of real labor

how did urs start?.. did labor start slowly for you or not?... also what kind of pain/ symptoms where associated with it??

How to ask the boy I like to come to my party I'm having (READ MORE)?
We were in the same play together... I was on his friend\'s list on Facebook, then I sent him a message and he removed me from his friends list and didn't respond to the message, I dunno how to take it so I figure I'm gonna invite him to the party I'm having... but I dunno if he just forgot me or he just is trying to get rid of me... thats pretty weird what he did in my opinion... but like I wanna ask him to come I'm gonna tell him one of his friends is gonna be there (& he will be there), but see when I ask him I'm afraid he won't remember me and he might think it\'s odd I'm inviting him... or he might remember me and think Im desperate... My son said this tonight and it killed me...."Mom, when my brother and I were talking about 'IT' (sex) he said when you do it, you lose your gender" (The boys this conversation pertained to are 16 and 11, the 11 year old is about to go over puberty in school this year and is quite nervous so we have been preparing him for this. Anyway, I thought this was funny because the elder didn't say gender but virginity.)
Anyone have a similar experience (with wording that is)?
