My daughter is beside me right now, and when I am not looking at her, she is kicking and cooing. As soon as I look at her, she stops and smiles. Could she be messing with my head???lol.

Now, not to sound "crazy" but there is a such thing as an "indigo/crystal children" where they can actually read your mind, and know what your thinking. (Ok, so I'm kinda weird) You can google it, and it will come back with some good pages.
Do some research on it. Or if you want a link, i can hook you up.
Babies are very in-tune to us adults! They are sooooooo much smarter then we think!

I love the question b/c I have a 2 week old and I always look at her and think what is going through that head and
I wonder what she dreams about. On the smiling thing... I dislike when people tell me she smiles b/c she has gas. My daughter smiles a lot I mean full dimple smiles and I think sometimes it could be gas, but I also think it could be a real smile. I would believe it was all gas if she did not do it when I or her Father was talking to her. She will be looking right at us and we will say something to her and she will smile and we love it. I know thats not much help, but I just think similarly to you.

Yup. That's their (babies) purpose. Haven't you figured that out yet? LOL!
Babies are a hoot. I think I was about 15 when I had nursery duty at church. One of the baby boys kept me on my toes constantly. He "talked" and cried all the time EXCEPT when I tickled his tummy. Rotten little rat had me on a leash. HA! HA!

Yes, my Mama says that they are playing with angels. I think that they are trying to talk to us. Whatever it is it is cute.
