I have 6 year old daughter going on 16. and a 15 month baby.
my daughter is becoming very defiant and rebellious it is like living with jeckyl and hyde. She can be the sweetest little girl in the world and the next she is talking back and slamming doors like a teenager. I am strict on disipline and send her to the corner or bed and sometimes get her to write out what she did wrong and what she should do instead.
its probably normal. But would like to hear from anyone with similar issues.
thanks guys

I've never had such a problem with my period before. I went 10 months without a period, then it suddenly came back. Then I had it once, then the next month I spotted. Around the third month I never got my period. I had nausia in the morning and night, but no throwing up. My stomach bothered me quite a bit, as if I had a stomach ache for about two weeks. Now this month I have no pregnancy symptoms, except being tired. I also gained 10 pounds in the past two months, but only in the belly area. I took a pregnancy test and it came up negative. Could I possibly be pregnant or is there something else causing this?

Be honest. And we want 6-8 (have 2 right now). Kids are only as expensive as you make them. I luckily have rich family who give me all the VERY nice hand me downs and great insurance, I pay close to nothing! :)

i am due with my 2nd child in april, and i don't want anymore kids after this one. i want to get my tubes tied. By the way i am 22 years old and i live in florida.

#1) i want to know, What is the age that they will 'Tie your tubes'?

#2) and if i am 2 young how do i go about getting papers signed for me to get it done anyway?

#3) And what is the law in florida about getting it done while you have your c section?

and i have decided that i ONLY want 2 kids. After all It is MY Decision. In Todays world it is VERY Exspencive to raise more that 2 kids. and i don't want my kids having to do without. Because they come from a large family. i come from a family with 5 kids. and i don't want to go through that.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any theme parks in the continental US, (we live in MO if that helps) that are good for 2 year olds? Are there any theme parks that are primarily for toddlers? But not disney world, we don't want to break the bank on somewhere he won't remember. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm having trouble producing breastmilk and a doctor that's taking care of my son in the NICU prescribed me Reglan. I'm reading that it's for gastrointestinal problems and says nothing whatsoever about helping increase breastmilk production. Has anyone else ever taken this medicine? If so, did it help your production? Thanks in advance.

I like our sitter, she is about 4 yrs younger than me in a bad situation - single mom and all that - she is also a daughter of a friend. The thing is her son we let her bring him with and a lot of her time is spent catering to him (he's a baby, and I understand, but it cuts into her time to do her job with my son). She also gets frustrated with him crying and will be very harsh with him and I am not comfortable with how she talks to her son. We have talked about this and making sure she manages time better and it was getting better - but ...

Then today, I left our son with her here and when I came back after 4 hrs only 2 of my sons 6 pages of work was done and she was laying down with her baby and mine was in his room with his door shut playing video games.

It was the last straw. I had my husband pay her and I went in my room and calmed down without saying anything. I don't know how to fire her - I always feel guilty when I am about to.

We have decided after only 3 months of TTC, we are going to take a break. I was diagnosed over a year ago with ovarian cysts. I was put on birth control to shrink them after an internal u/s determined they were small enough (but many of them) to do so. I was on b/c for 6 months then went off and everything was fine. No more pain, and my cycles were more regular after that. Two months ago I had a missed miscarriage. Since those two months have passed I have continuously had pain. My doctor scheduled me to have another ultrasound at the end of this month, so we decided to wait and make sure everything is ok before we continue. I will still be here to answer questions, and learn new things from everyone also...and will keep updating. Good luck to those TTC, and I send you all the baby dust you need! Keep your fingers crossed for me that everything is ok, we really want to start TTC again soon!!

I'm the grandmother of 9 month old girl who has just been designated as a state licensed foster care provider in order to take care of my granddaughter while my oldest daughter gets her life back on track. Sadie is very healthy and right on target physically and emotionally. (Her mom had her problems, but did exceptionally well with her) She's been in state custody for a month now and was finally placed with us today, a wonderful early Christmas present. I just have a few questions for you younger parents out there. It's been 16 years since my youngest was an infant and I've been reading "What to Expect the First Year" but I have questions. 1. At this age my kids slept about 10/12 hrs per night. Does that sound about right? 2. The book talks about giving them whole grain bread rather than white. I don't remember giving them bread at this age. She has teeth coming in but nothing that could chomp anything up. 3. Cheerios, bananas cut up in small pieces, eggs, cottage cheese? Thanks.

I'm being induced tomorrow at 6pm. I have a 2 1/2 year old son that I just put into bed. We have a little "routine" when it comes time for him to go to bed... I go all the way up the steps and sit at the top. He comes up the steps and sits on my knee and hugs me for a few minutes, then he gets up and walks to his bed and goes to bed. It's what we've been doing for months now. But this time, as he's sitting on my lap, I just started bawling. I'm not sure if it's because I know it's the last time i'll put him in bed as my only son, or if it's because it's the last time i'll put him in bed for 3 nights, or... if I subconciously feel guilty because I'm not going to be able to give him my undivided attention anymore.

Tell me I'm not a freak, please. :(

I just saw the trailer to "The Business of Being Born" and I'm going to see the full-length version with another friend at an auditorium at our University soon. My question is: after watching his clip, do you believe that he is doing the same thing to me? I believe in my heart that my first c-section was unnecessary and he just wanted to get back to his office and then go home for the day. I'm scheduled for another one on the 26th of December and I really don't want to do it. I really would like to experience a natural birth, something that women were suppose to be able to do. It saddens me to think that I may never experience this. My doctor also "does not allow vaginal births after c-sections". WTF do I do??? How do I fight the system? Apparently, Ricki Lake, the executive producer of this film had a c-section with her first child and succeeded in "beating the system" with her second.

I want to have a talk with my six-year-old daughter about what to do if somebody tries to touch her in an inappropriate way, but I don't want to freak her out either. She's starting to participate in more activities where I'm not always present -- dance lessons, play dates, camp, etc. -- and I want to walk through with her what is inappropriate touching, ideas about what to do if somebody makes her uncomfortable, and to always tell me, and so on. Can anyone recommend any books or websites that would help me raise the topic with her in a non-threatening way? Any ideas for how to have this discussion without making her think the world is full of scary people who will be trying to grope her?

I had a baby 9 months ago and about two months later I have had problems going to the bathroom. Every time I use it my rectum hurts like the worst pain in the world (worst than having a baby) & it keeps getting worst. I went to my gyno & she says she can't find any fissures and she referred me to a surgeon, Im going tomorrow but i can't sleep because Im scared it might be something more serious. Has anyone ever had this problem or might know what it could be?

Many schools, especially high schools, are giving out free condoms to reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies in the country. However, is this a positive action or a negative one that is just an "invitation to have sex?" Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but prove your case.

People say that you should only have sex when you are at a responsible age for it when you can deal with the consequences of unwanted pregnancy, STDs, etc. but is sex before marriage in general an immoral concept?? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but support your case.

My neighbor told me the other day that she doesn't give her kids christmas presents on Christmas, She does it days even a week early. I have never heard of parents doing that. Of course for other types of holidays But Christmas? I think if you are trying to teach your child about tradition, Wouldn't doing it early defeat the purpose? I don't know it just seems weird to me.

...for getting a bad grade on a test I didn't study for. I just got spanked earlier this week for cussing(it just slipped). I'm 15. This happens usually when I get bad grades or cuss. I used to get it for drinking, lieing, and stayin out all night but i no longer do any of these things in fear that I will get in trouble. Aren't I way too old for this? I'm scared it will happen again!
