I had a baby 9 months ago and about two months later I have had problems going to the bathroom. Every time I use it my rectum hurts like the worst pain in the world (worst than having a baby) & it keeps getting worst. I went to my gyno & she says she can't find any fissures and she referred me to a surgeon, Im going tomorrow but i can't sleep because Im scared it might be something more serious. Has anyone ever had this problem or might know what it could be?

I've had nothing but problems after delivering my second baby, I'm pretty sure it's due to tearing, and I think the only thing I can really do is give it time. He is now 2 years old, and I started to feel better after about a year, then I enden up pregnant again, and after delivery, the same problems, up until now, my newest is 6 months. All I can really say is to give it time if the doctors can't find anything, and hopefully it will heal you.

Perhaps it might be a rectal abcess? It took a couple of doctors to tell me what it was. They had to lance it and the pressure was off. What a relief! It was the worst pain in the world too. They had to pack it with gauze and I had to use antibiotic cream. It's was a terrible area to try to keep clean. Unfortunately they can be reoccuring. Anything oral or rectal has to be the worst areas to have pain. I doubt if it is really serious, it's just that the intensity is more pronounced in a sensative area. Women also commonly have hemarroids with a birth of a baby, so perhaps even that might be a cause.

Well I have chronic constipation and yes it can be EXTREMELY painful. after I had my daughter within the first 3 monthes I had several issues using the bathroom because it hurt so much. I dont know if it is possible to have these problems still at 9 monthes. But i guess anything could be possible. Its hard not to worry but I dont think it is that serious, it probably is a large hemeriod or something like that, I am sure they will figure it out tommorw, Good Luck!

Calm down . You may have a rectal tear that needs repair. Use a stool softener and keep that doctor appointment. A big baby and an episiotomy can make for a lot of residual problems in that area. It will be Ok.
