They don't seem to like regular baby food any more and won't eat it. They like to spit it out or whine when I try to give it to them. They love Gerber puffs, and Cheerios, graham crackers, etc. I don't know how to get them to eat healthy foods, they don't mind fruits, cheese or yogurt, but I don't know what type of veggies to try that they'll eat.

I am a lil over 38 weeks pregnant and totally miserable... Today has been the worst by far, I have been crying on and off all day and just in pain ...no real contractions just mostly an achy back like if I had really bad menstrual cramps. The contraction I do experience are just totally irregular. I thought the braxton hicks were supposed to be painless? I feel like she is about to break my pelvic bone it just hurts like she is right on top of it. This is my second baby but with my first I was totally induced and not near as miserable. I had him at 36 1/2 weeks because I had preeclampsia, so this pregnancy is just totally different and I am sick of playing this waiting game....I have a doctor appt tomorrow and really hoping he will go ahead and induce or that I will go into labor tonight, I don't think I can handle this much longer!!!

I have a midwife and she doesn't feel as though checking the cervix is necessary... Because she says the baby is going to come whenever it wants to, and you can stay 2 centimeters dialated for a month..(which I completely understand her logic in it)... However, I am curious to see if my body is doing anything yet... but then again I don't want to get disappointed by being dialated to 2 for a month.... I have a strep b test in 2 weeks....I was thinking about having my midwife check then. What are your thoughts? I will be 37 weeks at my next visit....I have been feeling this prickly burning stabbing feeling in my cervix and she says it is probably my cervix softening and or/ the way the baby is sitting......so maybe my body is getting close!!!!

Also I know what dilating is, but what does effaced mean and + station?

I am curious what the consensus is on giving a baby sweets? It seems as the momma likes giving him anything that she likes so he can try it cookies candy canes. I have suggested to her I would rather him start his lfe off eating the healthy stuff like fruits and veggies. Oh tonights menu was pizza. I am anal about things but I want the absolute best for my little guy. I guess I should have thought about that more before I helped bring him into the world with a women that doesnt share my same thoughts. Anyway let me know what the communities thoughts are. Thanks

I realize every doctor is different but generally when do you start checking your cervix to see if you are dialated.

I have been checked at earlier weeks but just because I was having pain.

I want to know when start checking at every visit.

The last time I checked there were no cases of lead poisoning from kids (please correct me if I am wrong), yet we're treating it like an epidemic. Many children are going to go without a Christmas this year mostly because of lead paint.

What's worse, no toys, or toys that hold a very very very very tiny chance of getting your kid sick?

I could be pregnant, but I'm not sure. when i had sex, i was having cramps at the time and i was pmsing. I hadn't started my period though. We did not use a condom and he did ejaculate. Sorry if this is blunt, but i'm worried because im only 17. the thing is, that was last friday and i'm still having cramps and i have sore breasts. Could i be pregnant because my period has never done this before?? Please help.

My daughter is 7 months old; I've nursed her from the beginning with little or no problem. I have the occasional clogged duct, but I'm used to them and able to un-clog and go on with business.

Since this past Thursday though, my nipples have been very very sore to the touch. Saturday I noticed a small scab on the right one, and treated it with lanolin and neosporin. It's healed for the most part. Sunday I began having radiating pain from the nipple back.
I went to the doctor yesterday because the pain is getting worse and more frequent and my nipples are so very sore. He gave me pain meds and told me to keep nursing.

The pills help, don't get me wrong, but they're only masking the pain. Now tonight I have what looks like a blister on my nipple. It hurts so bad. has anyone else experienced this? What in the world is it?

Okay, so I'm not a parent. I'm a big sister and well, it's kinda come to my attention that when I'm around my nine year old sister she starts to talk to herself. Sometimes while we watch TV other times while we're playing a game or eating dinner. Usually under her breath but she repeats herself a lot! When I ask her whats wrong she'll just say it's nothing.
She's not challenged in any way. She goes to school like any other kid but I've also noticed that this talking tends to happen on an off/on baises.
Any insite or advice as to what could be troubling my sis?

I have a problem..Back in Oct, I had unpretected sex with my boy friend, dumb decision no offense taken. But i did pregnancy tests that came out negative and visited a clinic two months after..everything was negative.Ive also had my periods. A few weeks ago(dec 6) we did it again but we were smart and used pretection, i was fine..then last saturday(dec 15) we did it protective, nothing broke both times..and i had bad cramping after but no bleeding. The other day i think yesterday i had a little bleeding but today my chest is sore
..what could it be? Arent condoms safe? My friend told me that it could be because of the cold weather, because only one side of my chest hurts.help? what do you think?

Alright, the boy I like. He always tried to get my attention. As in if I'm NOT giving ALL my full attention to him he will do something to try to get my attention. As in he will call me this nickname (some people will call it a pet name) and then when i turn around he just smiles big and waves. And he ALWAYS teases me constantly and we fight (how me and him flirt) constantly as well. And he remembers things PERFECTLY from 3 years agothat most people would never remember! But when he is with his friends he acts completly different. He is really popular and I am extremly unpopular. And he insults me and things. But I know thats because of Middle School, he can't be caught associating with one of the "freaks" because he is SO popular. And I get that. But today he was so quiet. Usually, he never shuts up. And in the begining of class 2 days ago he gave me a HUGE smile and a geeky wave when I said hi to him in class. But why would he be so quiet? And ignore me?

OK mommies! Im just wondering... How long did everyone NURSE their babies for? And how long was it until your milk dried up?
MY son is 10 months old now, and I only really nurse him on one boob. The other one I dont use too often. I think because the way we lay down when we nurse. I typically only nurse him at night, or if he wakes up during the night.
When did you stop nursing? I find it a pain to have to wake up in the middle of the night and then make a bottle to take back to the bedroom. So, im wondering how long everyone else nused their babies? At what age do people typicaly ween the babies from bottles?

Lets see I have been eating and drinking except 4 alcohol for the past 12 weeks of beig pregnant I'm 12 weeks all I hear is don't drink sodas, don't drink raw juice, green tea
Can I drink chai tea is that ok for my baby chai tea from starbucks it has black tea in it
I already ate sushi ONCE early on at about 6 weeks bc I didnt know u were supposed to...
I drink 1-2 caffeinated drinks per day
I occasionally eat deli sandwiches
I eat fast food is this bad 2?
seems like doctors are narrowing it down to practically nothing during pregnancy

my (only child) son will be three in april and just recently started whining ALOT. if hes not whining about something, hes crying about it..and its not even anything to cry or whine about. he cant even ask me for help without whining. is this normal?? and how do i stop him from doing it all the time?? another thing is that he will be deathly afraid of something one day ( i mean snot slinging, real tears, shaking scared) and then not the next. how do i keep him from being SO scared all the time?? and the weird thing is that when its just my husband, me & my son is when hes scared the most. if we are with other people or visiting friends hes fine. i just dont get it....
any piece of advice will help...thanks =]
