Pregnancy & Parenting - 19 December 2007

Does anyone know any baby sleep centers in Cairns / Brisbane (Australia) that teach you settling of baby. My son is 7 weeks old and the only way he will settle is in my arms. Will not go to sleep any other way..... any advice on how i can change this????

He is like this in the car seat,,,,,,,at home,......in the pram......he just has to be held all the time or he will cry It is really doing my head in but i hate to see him cry....i let him cry for a little while but his face goes red and sounds like he is going to choke himself so i pick him up and cuddle him and happens all over again when i put him down. He is not hungry, or windy no dirty nappy.....just likes being in mums arms.....what can i do to fix this????

He is 6 days old.. and now he sucks me for more than one hour. I get tired and starts sweating.. he keps sucking me with the pause...

he is a thin guy, only 2.3 kg, does he need more milk than the normal kids?

I starts sweating while he suck for one hour, i am not yet as healthy as i should be becuse it was a C-Section delivery.

I am confused. what to do..

I have real craving for some pistachio nuts right now. I know it's recommended to avoid peanuts but does that include other nuts aswell? My mother has an allergy to brazil nuts and my sister has an allergy to peanuts so i usually try to avoid nuts while i'm pregnant.

I was told, by what I now believe is a ridiculous date system, that I was 5 weeks pregnant (last week). I did not experience "implantation bleeding", but the whole time did have menstrual like cramps which I was told were normal. Two days ago I started bleeding and had very slight and small clotting. Went to emergency, they removed clotting from me and said things should be ok, because my cervix was closed, and refered me to an early pregnancy clinic. Still bleeding with slight clotting...went to clinic today and they did a transvaginal scan and said that they couldnt see any pregnancy, but not to worry, because my uterous wall was thick, indicating very early pregnancy or current miscarriage. What the hell! Have any of you had the same? I'm Still bleeding... confused...I no longer feel pregnant... i was so happy and looking foward to our baby... also, how soon after miscarriage is it possible to become pregnant again?

Im a special needs monitor on a school bus and im having a veryyy hard time keeping a 6 year old awake on the bus.. The first of the year i read to her and all the other kids on the bus and that worked.. now they dont want me to read to them ( the boys ) and she wants to read herself so she reads her books and that makes her fall asleep even faster now.. I have talked with mom many times and she does send stuff for her to do the other day she sent a puzzle thing that seemed to work but yesterday she fell right asleep again. At the beginning of the school year she hit her head a few times but she was okay but if she hits it hard one day we have to pull the bus over call dispatch and they have to send a albluence and check her out that is board policy now so we really dont want that to happen...

Any sugestions on how to keep her awake??? I try to talk to her as much as possiable i ask her what she did in class to keep her awake but she just keeps shutting her eyes lol

my daughter was a complete breast fed baby till she was 5 n a half months now she 's 6 months n few daz old.started her on cereals n baby food but she's not 2 happy abt it.she doesnt like da taste also,so i keep experimenting with her but hv not been very successful.i hv not been able 2 set any eating routine 4 her.but at da same time i dont want 2 force on her.i hv read dat after 6 months babies do need extra apart from mother's milk.but she's very moody n takes only if she wants.is it normal?

im currently 39 weeks and a couple days pregnant. my doctor said that i should only go into the hospital if i was bleeding and it ooked like the begining of my mestral cycle, but if it wasn't as red not to worry about it. but every time i go pee i get leaks of blood, and they get darker each time. like one shade. does this mean im almost gonna go into labor, and if so about how long?

hi i'm 21 weeks pregnant and am having trouble breathing. my belly just popped out this week so can it just be the extra weight??? you can tell i'm pregnant and theres no question about it. But i'm also coughing badly is there medicine i can take. is this just normal or can it be from dehydration??? i can't breath especially with a heater on!
