Hi All,

I dont know why I am asking this as even I know baby will come when she decides to. But just wanted to share it with you all. I am 38 weeks and 4 days. This is my first one and yesterday I went to the doctor, she said I am not dilated and baby is not dropped. Actually I dont feel like 38 weeks at all. I still go to work, run all the errands and can sleep nicely. I put on 32 pounds but dont feel that heavy and my tummy did not get very big. Everyone thinks I am 5-6 months pregnant.
Though I want the baby soon, I am scared of labor to death....

My sister Lacey is due to have twins any time around Christmas day. A girl and a boy. She is so excited about it. She wants to name her children Nouvel (No- vel, like Noel with a V) and Harvard. What do you think of the names? Lacey is a single mom and she wants some opinions.

Two questions really, no need to waste points, first, does anyone know what kind of "hair style" the doctors and nurses prefer for D Day? What kind did you have? How did you feel about it? If you were less than bushy,... how did you reach it to do it? I can barely reach it to wipe after I pee! and Also, I think I would like to try squatting as a labor and delivery position,... does any one have any experience with this? Does anyone have a picture or drawing of it,... sounds stupid, but I want to see what I am supposed to do, to make sure I am doing it right, and effectively. I have a book with some drawings of different positions for D Day, but not of this one. Thanks in advance guys.

Now that 16 year-old Jamie Lynn is pregnant? I think the book would be great - sort of a "what not to do" when raising daughters.

I noticed two days ago while I was rubbing my stomach that when I touch my bellybutton it hurts, it is a rather sharp pain. I can't remember whether or not I have had this same experience in my other pregnancies and I was just wondering if it was normal or if anyone else has experienced this?

My midwife can over to my house today and did a strech and sweep for me. I'm currently 3 CM dilated, 50% effaced and EXTREMLY soft.
Did anyone have a strech and sweep work for them?
She also said if I haven't had my baby by Saturday to call her at 10AM and she'll come do another.
I was due yesterday.

Any tips on the best way to go about it? My daughter will be turning 1 years old at the end of January 2008 and, at the suggestion from her dr, i plan on switching to cows milk at that point. But I'm wondering how you're supposed to do it? I have the following questions i'd appreciate any input on.
1. Do i cut all formula out at once and just give her whole milk?
2. Can I continue to use bottles to feed her her milk/formula until she is ready to transfer completely to a bottle?
3. How much cows milk should a just-turned-1-year-old drink (please give ounces if you know)
4. Whats the reason she can't just continue with formula?

I've had some problems during my pregnancy - with a minor placental abruption at 12 weeks, and constant spotting and bleeding all through-out. I started PAINFUL braxton hicks at 16 weeks, and was put on PROCARDIA to control them - and my cervix has been checked every week since I was 24 weeks pregnant. I am 50% effaced as of now, and still am spotting for no reason. I am in constant unbelievable pain and on bed-rest. My OBGYN suggested to do a C-SECTION (I did not want a vaginal delievery regardless if i went to 40 weeks or not) I am just scared about my baby's condition at 36 weeks and 4 days. I know 37 is considered full term, but still....my doctor thinks its in my best interest. We've done a non-stress test, and it was perfect. My doctors words "A very healthy baby"...I just dont want him to end up in the NICU, - which means he'll have to be transferred to a different hospital than where I will be. We're doing a final ultrasound to check his size tomorrow. HELP! I AM GOING CRAZY!!

I am about 4 - 5 weeks right now and sometimes I get what feels like light menstural cramps, they are not all the time, they just come and go and doesn't last very long either. I haven't had any spotting or anything, so I was wondering if the feelings I've been having is associated with things "stretching" in there? Thanks everyone for their answer, have a great day!!!
(Should I be worried or is this normal?) This is my first pregnancy :)

I had decided I would really not like my baby using them as they are hard to give up and I dont like the sight of toddlers walking round with them in, but Ive heard they reduce SIDS by 50%.

I've always been right there to pick my son up from school, but one day I was standing in the same spot as usual & he didn't see me & I didn't see him. His classmates walked past me, but somehow I didn't see him walk past. I waited a minute thinking what I should do, so I walked into his classroom & his teacher said he walked out w/ the rest of the kids. Again I went outside to look for him, but couldn't find him. I went around the building (still looking) and into the principals office to find him sitting in a chair crying. That was 5 days ago & now he is worried that I won't find him & has cried off & on at school every day. I promised him that I will not let it happen again & that I will ALWAYS be there, etc, etc., but it does not seem to be comforting him & is making it really hard to drop him off knowing that he is probably going to cry again.....Any suggestions?
