I noticed two days ago while I was rubbing my stomach that when I touch my bellybutton it hurts, it is a rather sharp pain. I can't remember whether or not I have had this same experience in my other pregnancies and I was just wondering if it was normal or if anyone else has experienced this?

I think it is pretty normal. You have a lot of stretching going on in that area right now. Remember that a belly button is really just a scar from where the umbilical cord was attached. Scar tissue can be tender when stretched. I had the same with my first pregnancy and anticipate that I will probably have the same with this one ( I am currently 24 weeks).

I am 28 weeks as well. I haven't experience any pain there, but I've noticed that my bellybutton is sticking out half way and I'm wondering when will it stick out all the way because it's starting to bother me.

I had that with mine. It was sore sometimes numb and it stuck out so far it look abnormal. Well at the end of my first pregnancy I found out I had an umbilical hernia. It was ok and didnt affect my baby and I actually didnt have fixed for four years so I had it through my second pregnancy too. I had to get it fixed though after my son b/c it started to get bigger and they were afraid of it twisting on itself and that is bad. Best of luck just talk to your md!

I had the same thing, kinda freaked me out, but it is normal! Hurts like heck sometimes, but the doc says it is just streching and that can be painful, even on the inside. Good Luck!

I had it with both of my pregnancies. The skin around their is extra sensitive now from being stretched out so far. Run some vitamin # iol on it daily and it will feel better. Sorry about it.
