Hi All,

I dont know why I am asking this as even I know baby will come when she decides to. But just wanted to share it with you all. I am 38 weeks and 4 days. This is my first one and yesterday I went to the doctor, she said I am not dilated and baby is not dropped. Actually I dont feel like 38 weeks at all. I still go to work, run all the errands and can sleep nicely. I put on 32 pounds but dont feel that heavy and my tummy did not get very big. Everyone thinks I am 5-6 months pregnant.
Though I want the baby soon, I am scared of labor to death....

Dont worry...with my son (my 1st too) the drs said he would either be on time or late....I guess this is normal with 1st time pregnancies. When I did give birth the baby had never dropped, and I was at work the day before I went into labor....went to my drs appt (where she told me it would be another week or so because he still hadnt dropped) and then went home and did some laps and exercising in the pool!! hahahahh When labor started it was fast and hard..I had the baby within 4 hours!! But its true what everyone tells you....of course its painful but as soon as your baby is brought into the world you totally forget all about it!!!! And realistically its nothing to be scared of ...I thought I would need an epidural but I did it natural and was just fine.....dont worry and get your sleep now while you can!!! :) Good luck!!

I am the opposite, baby has dropped four weeks ago, I lost my mucus plug last week, I was told on Friday that I am 3cm 60% effaced and at +1 almost +2 station and can "go any day now" they say. When my mom went to her doctors appointment the day before her due date (with her first child) the doctor told her to expect to go another week becuase the baby had not dropped, she had not dilated at all, or anything. Well at midnight that same day, she started experiencing contractions, so she went to the hospital and three hours later, on her actual due date, she had the baby. So you can never be too sure! Goodluck and congrats

Labors not bad. I promise. Its like really really bad period. Transition hurts, but you can have meds through it. Delivery hurts for about 2-4 pushes, and then all the pain is over.

The more relaxed you are, and the more you work WITH your body instead of tensing up the easier and faster it goes.

Just stay active like you are, if you try to start labor before its time you'll make it last longer and have a harder time at it.

Yeah, just stay active, it'll help baby get into position.

Don't be scared. Both my kids were 2 weeks overdue. Like u I didn't feel anything until the day i went to give birth. As long as the keep making sure the baby is not in distress cherish these last days of pregnancy.

Sheesh, what's the rush? You've got 3.5 more weeks before you need to worry! Labor hurts the same whether the baby is small or large, smaller babies don't make for easier deliveries either! Your time will come and you will do great.
