I've always loved the name Colleen. She will be the only one in her class, you can almost guarantee that. And as to the comment about that it is "too mature"- she will be an adult for the majority of her life, she will only be a baby for one year.

I reckon the names going to make a come back in the UK as Colleen is the Wife to be of Wayne Rooney.... Manchester United football player...

Shes become a fashion icon in her own right... her own perfume... etc etc

yes. i know all the young mothers are picking old names. back in the day you used family names such as the grandmothers names nut people dont do that much any more. boys dont care so much but girls love having a pretty name. colleen, lucy, sally, mary, etc all those old names are not pretty names at all.

In my opinion, yes.

I would think, if i were a Kindergarten teacher and saw the name on the roster amongst the McKenzies and Dylan's and et.al., I'd think she was named after someone in the family

A little,but with so many Ashleys,Briannas,Kaylas,etc.. It would be different. I do like the name. I just haven't heard it since I was in high school in the 70's.

Go for it. Unique, not heard often and not to difficult to spell. She will be able to write her own name in first grade.
