Well, if *you* l"really LOVE" the name then I would say that you shouldn't really be influenced by what anyone else might think. . . . but if you do care about other people's opinions, maybe it shows that you actually do have some slight doubt about it.

Personally, it's not a name that I would ever choose but then you don't know me and my opinion shouldn't count for anything when you are naming your child!

But I suppose you are here to ask for views, so here's mine . . . I think the name, especially with the surname, sounds really harsh and unapproachable. Would you really want to lumber your child with a name that puts people off? Might not be the best start in life for the poor chap . . . .

To me, the combination of the two names into
'Gunnar Blockler' sounds like some kind of ammunitions manufacturer. Also, the phrase 'going to' (as others have commented on) is often lazily abbreviated to 'gunna' and in the playground, Gunnar Blockler can sound like 'I'm gunn block yer' or similar . . . . sounds like a threat!

Whatever you decide on it's YOUR choice and I wish you nothing but the best with it!

Gunnar sounds kind of like a German name, so I would choose another German name for the middle name. Maybe something like Lars or Heinrich.

in australia we use gunnar like this " he's gunna do the garden later" meaning he is going to do the garden later. i know some husbands who are nick named gunna's because they are always going to don something. so my point is i personally would not name a child that, but if you dont live in australia then i guess it would be ok.

totally agree with the top two answers. We refer to my husband's aunt and uncle as the 'Gunna's cos they are always 'gunna do this and gunna do that' but never actually do!

Not a great name to go with the surname either, too rhymy sounding.
