I was wondering if anyone knew of any theme parks in the continental US, (we live in MO if that helps) that are good for 2 year olds? Are there any theme parks that are primarily for toddlers? But not disney world, we don't want to break the bank on somewhere he won't remember. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Pennsylvania could be a good place. There is Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. This theme park is specifically made for kids. Aside from all family rides, they have 8 rides where you must be UNDER 54" to ride! While you are in the area you can go to Chocolate World in Hershey, PA. There is also Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. (closed until May 2008)

Legoland (in San Diego) is definately geared toward the younger age set, but nearly as expensive as Disneyland.

We liked to take our kids to Camp Snoopy in Knotts Berry Farm at that age -- they had a ton of rides for the little kids -- but hardly worth a trip cross country.

My suggestion is to decide where you would like to go as a family and then look for children's museums, parks etc in the area.

As you mentioned, he won't remember anyway, so why not just take him up to the snow or to a beach -- that you can all enjoy.

Santa's Village and Storyland in Glen N.H. are both great for kids of all ages. Then again, the trip from MO to NH may be too far.

Yes, Legoland was great even for my 5-yr-old the last time we were in southern California. I even shelled out hundreds of dollars to go to Disneyland that trip, and he wouldn't go on any of the rides because he thought they were too scary (I must've been pretty scary myself, not being very impressed after spending all that money just to walk around the park!).
