I am married to a soldier so I am restricted to the Army Hospital on base. I am five week pregnant and they will not see me until I am at least 12 weeks. This seems wrong to me. I have heard that the first three months are the most important, yet I have to go through them without seeing my midwife. Oh, and you don't get a doctor, you get a midwife. WTF!

I am 19 weeks prego. Last week I had my complete ultrasound and thank God everything was okay with the baby and his/ her developement. HOwever, he/she had his/ her legs closed so we couldn't find out the sex. Today I see my OB for a check up and he has an ultrasound machine in the office. I don't want to be pushy but should I ask him to take a look to see if he can tell me the sex? Should that be an issue? What if he says no? I have been disappointed twice already thinking that when I get the test done I'll find out what my baby is and then nothing ever happens. Some advice would be nice...and it would cheer me up..lol. Thanks!

In my 20s I got pregnant twice successfully with husband #1 and had all the typical symptoms with excessive morning sickness but no cramping. Now I'm 34 with husband #2 had one miscarriage. I had no symptoms except exhaustion and cramping. The fetus stopped growing at 5-6 weeks and the body naturally exposed it at 7.5 weeks. Three months later I am pregnant again at 5 weeks and I just started cramping again last night with no other symptoms. I'm waiting for a callback from my physician but I just have that feeling I'm in for another miscarriage. What should I do, insist on progesterone treatment, or test for a certain level so they have an indicator for the next pregnancy. I do not want to wait after 4 miscarriages before they start to investigate.

Please help.

My nine year old was in the library with her biological father, (not my husband) and tried to find answers about starting a peroid. Instead of finding something at her leval she found a book that was rather graphic for her age group.
My daughter is very bright and smart.

Okay, so I am expected to get my period in about 5-ish days. Last time i got it for only like 4 days. i have been very tired and my boobs hurt a little. Do you think i am pregnant? Is it to early to tell or to take a HPT?

2007-09-26 03:47:33 · 3 answers · asked by Anonymous in Other - Pregnancy & Parenting

Okay here is the long and short of it all. On Sept 18 I took a HPT it came back positive. I have been in shock ever since. I have gone to my OBGYN, which was on Tuesday, Sept 25. Her nurse did a pg test which cam back positive as well. She did an ultrasound where she said she could not really see anything as it might be too early to tell if I really am pregnant. She said this bc I had a full miscarrige at the end of July 2007. My OBGYN ordered blood work and told me to come back in two weeks.

Here is my question. I have been having "crapping like" pains in my lower back and in my pelvic area too. Are these just symptoms of pregnancy? If not should I really be all that worried about it? I am planning on talking about it with my OBGYN the next time I go but that again is in two weeks.

Please help me with this. I am really starting to get freaked out by these small pains.

I am suppose to have a baby a week ago. But I am scared that something is wrong. What do I do? If my water don't break do the nurses do it for me? How do I dilate on my own if I am late? Or do the nurses do that to?

My son is almost 4 months old. We've had to cut his nails really short (every 2 days) because he keeps scratching at his face and his head. I keep his face moisturized and he does have some cradle cap. Anyways, he scratches until he ends up with small, bleeding cuts on his scalp and in between his eyes. Does anyone know why? Or when this phase will pass? I don't want to keep mittens on him because it's so warm over here. Thanks for your answers.

I don't mean the everyday longing to be home with them.
Does anything happen regularly to you while you are at work that gives you that overwhelmingly urge to be with your baby?

I bathed my son this morning & still smell the baby shampoo ;(

Wondering if others go throught this too.

I have a really bad cold, possibly mono. Besides washing my hands or just staying away from her, is there any way I can make sure my 4 month old baby doesn't catch it? Any vitamins I can give her or something like that?

For the past five or six days I've had a lot of irregular Braxton-Hicks contractions. They come all day long, anywhere from eight to forty-five minutes apart. Could this be the beginning of labor, or is it normal to have them like this?

I'm sorry, I closed my original question by mistake. Please respond to this.

My 3 year old son's pediatrician has told that my son has flat feet and that it is better if he wears corrective shoes from now on. His foot leans away from the ankle and he also has flat feet. The pediatrician told me that at this stage my son doesn't need a podiatrist. I trust my pediatrician, and if she says I don't need to see a podiatrist now, I will defer it for now. She suggested that I buy a shoes called "Naturino". Apparently, it was very effective for some other child with a similar problem. But when I checked it out on the website, I was not happy with the choices available online. I would like to visit a store and try out the shoes on my son before I buy them. If there are any other shoes that are effective, I would like to know please. Can someone please tell me where I can buy corrective shoes in New Jersey, USA? Thank You.

My friend just pointed out my new daughter's intials. She's just eighteen months old.

Her full name is Katherine Kay Kordova. KKK.

How can I change it? Can I? I didn't even notice it until she pointed it out. It was a last moment decision at the hospital.

Advice to all parents out there: consider every aspect of the name you choose or you'll end up like me.

Before you answer, first realize that I already know shes going through a lot, horomonal changes etc... and don't need advice about whats happening but what I'm thinking about is now that were here, what could possibly be used as an effective stategy to consistantly lower the aggression and often times depression associated with the pregnancy during the first trimester, comming from a males perspective, I couldn't begin to imagine exactally what she's feeling, but rather help her overcome this issue together, and find a way to dissolve the randomness in her moodswings, or to learn how to deal with it accordingly, whereas I believe that half the problem is how I approach the raging female during one of those times of fluctuating horomones, thanks.

Kids need to be outdoors for playing - they need yard.
Kids need stability of living in an OWNED home.
Kids make noice which disturbs neighbours - apartments are even harder to contain noice in.
Apartment kids have no contact with nature - eg. dont have gardens etc.
Parents who live in apartments and then have kids will find it more difficult to save $ for home ownership.

Sooooo Basically I am saying people should buy a home first BEFORE having kids - or simply NOT HAVE KIDS!

I have not seen 1 advantage or 1 good reason why kids are better in apartments - I dont want answers from selfish points of view - I want answers as to WHY ITS BETTER FOR KIDS TO BE IN APARTMENTS???

My sister was told to switch from formula to milk she needed to put half milk and half formula in a bottle for a couple of weeks before she goes to all milk. Is this necessary. I would think that the bottle would still taste like formula. I am switching my daughter to milk. I just want to know how you guys did it.

My 10 month old son was seen at the Dr. on the 18th for a runny nose, the Dr. found that he had an ear infection while we were there. He perscribed Ammoxicilian and he has been taking it since the 19th (haven't scipped a dose). Yesterday the 25th he got a 101.6 fever and today he still has it, he is not to interested in eating, but does drink his bottles. Is this normal? Or am I being and anxious mom?

My lower back has been killing me!! More intense then any backache I've had during pregnancy, it feels like muscle spasms. The last time I had this much back pain is when I used to do landscaping! And I notice the baby has been really active in the last 24 hours as well. I also had so much pressure in my pelvic area it felt like I had a huge bowling ball rolling around inside me. I've only been awake for an hour now and already the backache is starting up again! Another thing is that I'm getting the odd AF type cramp. Which is weird because one of my PMS symptoms pre-pregnancy was lower back stiffness/pain accompanied by cramps. This feels just like I'm about to have a heavy duty period! But I have not lost my mucus plug (although I have dropped quite a bit in the last two days). and I don't have any real contractions, just braxton hicks frequently. I have an OB appointment tommorow morning and I will ask the doctor to check and see if I'm dilating (unless of course any of these symptoms gets worse or my water breaks or something). What do you think? Could this be labor starting?
