Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 September 2007

My question kind of different...I am 20 weeks pregnant with our first child...Have an extremely caring and sweet husband
He works very hard, and travels a lot too. I get very little time to spend with him...Living in a joint family too...
Problem is ever since I am pregnant he stays away....Earlier he had a wonderful drive and used to initiate things at least 2-3 times a week...Now it is always I who initiaites "things"..Which is even brushed off gently ...When I confronted him...He says he is afraid he will hurt the baby...I love him for his concern....But I also ache to have him hug me and cuddle me...How do I convince him?
Funnily enuf my desires are on an all time high LOL! My pregnancy is normal (touch wood ) ..Dr has not given any stay away warnings....I dont think it is wrong...Besides if I was uncomfortable I wud definitely tell him so....Please guys I am not trying to sound desperate....But atleast cuddling kissing and caressing would be welcome at this point ...Help !

I am a single mom of 3 boys. One of which is almost 16. He is beginning to sprout a mustache and beard, and I dont know how to teach him to shave...We have a male family friend that I could ask, but it feels like imposing...Is there any advice on how a woman can teach a boy to shave without cutting himself to ribbons?

I have a 6 month old son who still wont sleep through the night. Some days when im tired i just cant tolerate him and i so want to hurt him like throw him against the wall. Not that i ever would but its how i feel. Its only when he screams and i just cant fix it for him. My question is, how do you deal with your kids when your tired? or how do you calm down? iv tried going outside for a smoke but it doesnt help much. I find that im fine when ive had a reasonalble nights sleep but i hate the way i am when im tired, i hate the thought that im being a bad mum. Any mums have good things they do when you just need a breather? My husband works split shifts and my family is in New Zealand (im in Australia) so i dont get much of a break and i havnt had a whole night sleep in almost a year. I just dont want to end up hurting him.

Why do you answer it only to tell them that they are wrong/unethical to even consider adoption, and then tell them your views on why adoption (of infants) is wrong?
I understand this is a public forum, and every view is entitled to be expressed, but I don't understand why someone would answer a question with a completely irrelevant 'rant', that's hardly the purpose of YA.
There isn't the room to list all the questions here, but you only have to look through the list to see what I mean.
I've also noticed that a lot of adoptive parents or potential adoptive parents on here are constantly critisized and condemned by some people. These people are constantly talking about other's denying their truth and their story's, and that's all good, but why do they consistantly deny other people their own truth?

I am absolutely abismal at it. I figure it is because I lack enthusiasm, I have only ever been good at things I enjoy. I need a way to make housework seem fun and enjoyable and for it not to make me feel dirty (I am obsessed with my feet never getting dirt on them) and for it to be doable with a toddler following me around the house. i am due in 2 days & i had a check up last wednesday & i was told my baby has turned & is now breech. if it is still breech this wednesday i will be having a caesarean on thursday.

I just realized that my son is growing out of his size 6's and he's only 2 (turned 2 at the end of June)! I need a size 7. I haven't really seen them in the stores. I would prefer Pampers but an open to any size 7s! Thanks!

if the county social services can really take your kids away if your electric gets shut off, I mean I can see it happening if it was every month and the kids lived in an unsafe home and did'nt have food or water or clean cloths or go to school, but what if it was only for a few days and they had all those other things just not light and tv?

it sometimes it feels like im about to start my period but i dont. i just had it sept 22. my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex for like a week but he pulled out everytime(not that it matters) then the one time we use a condom, the condom broke. but ive been having these feelings before that. my right breast hurts more than anything. i just keep getting this funny feeling in my lower stomach. sometimes like butterflies. i just dont know what it could be in a way i think im pregnant but i think its TOOO early to tell. but i dont want to think about it so much because then my body will automatically have those symtoms. my boyfriend is freaking out and we try not to talk about it as much but in the back of our minds we know we want to. im scared and i just dont understand what it could be. Do you think you could give me some ideas please? Thank you very much.

Im just curious how old your baby was when he or she started to sleep through the night? Breast of bottle fed?
By sleep through the night I mean go to bed at bedtime and wake up not till morning. (like 9 or 10 hours at night)
No advice needed on getting babys to sleep through night not an issue.

Would you like your child to have your child have a security item like teddy bear, blanket, or pacifier.
My one child does and my other doesn't and I sometimes wish they both had one. Not really a question so much as a poll I guess. I know it may suck to get rid of but I honeslty think they are cute enough that they wouldn't be embarrased by them no matter how old they are

My husband and I always use condoms + my birth control. Recently we had an incident where the condom was not up to par... Anyway, I miss a pill AFTER we ended up having unprotected sex. And I've been trying to figure out the posibility of being pregnant, but NO CLUE! So anyway, I was one week into my pack of pills before I forgot to take one. We haven't had unprotected intercourse sense before I missed my pill. What do you think? I could SERIOUSLY use some help here! I will be happy either way. I have a son already and had been planning on having one more... Although I wouldn't mind waiting a while;)
