Don't try and lose it too fast.
A healthy low fat high fibre diet with lots of fruit and veg is the way to go.
Aim to lose between 1-3lbs a week, that way it will stay off.
Lots of walks with baby in the pram will help tone you up.

But most importantly, don't beat yourself up about it....remember, it took 9 months to put it on...it will take at least the same to get it off sensibly!!!!

I echo the thoughts of Amanda P. Enjoy your baby, let your hormones settle down eat a good diet of fruit, vegetables, fish and meat and have a LITTLE chocolate if you want it now and again - walk each day - fresh air is good for the baby and for you and does not cost you anything. You need to have the good diet for breast feeding. You will find being a busy Mum looking after a baby will help the pounds slowly disappear but also when baby has a sleep in the afternoon if you need a nap take it then. If you are tired you will crave sweet things to get an energy rush which will have a negative effect on your diet. Also drink plenty of water. Good luck and enjoy the baby

Hi I have a 13 week old baby and have lost nearly a stone so far on weight watchers, I would recommend it. But also you need to exercise, walking with the pram and try doing some weights indoors if you can to tone and help to lose weight, invest in some freeweight dumbells and do a couple of sets of 15-20 reps of various exercises every other day, Good luck!!

drinks lots of water and eat 3 meals a day. The healthier you eat and drink the better your body feels and burns fat. Walking daily and sleeping helped me. You burn more calories in the first 15 minutes of sleep than if you were to do 100 sit ups or walk 2-3 miles. Water is the best thing for loosing weight cause you go to the bathroom soooo much.

I too have gained alot of weight when i had my first. I was 127 and then I was 158 (wow). Now I'm 135 (whoo!). My best advice would be to take vitamins, everyday, eat a lot of proteins, so it's easier to burn those calories and if you eat at night remember to weight a hour because 1 sandwich at night could make you gain 2 pounds that night. Eating at night was hard for me to do.

It's maybe too late for you now, but I lost a ton of weight breastfeeding and was down to my usual size and weight after 3 1/2 months.

I know how you feel, I gained 4 stone during pregnancy and I have only lost 2 stone and that was 28 years ago. Exercise is the best - not strenuous exercise but brisk walking is good, don't starve yourself it doesn't work.

hi when my wife had our children she did a combination of exercise and diet. she basically used an exercise bike for 45 minutes a day (both seated and standing) and used the point system from weight watchers (i think), where she was allocated a certain number of points a day and ate what ever she wanted to meet those points. Most of all she made sure she enjoyed what she was doing.

with the help of bub you can loose weight!
Instead of doing normal weights use your bub as the resistance!
Depending if you want to do it at home or with other moms, and how much your willing to pay. You can get Post-natal pilates.
(I'm not a mom, but I have done taebo, an 8minte workout and it was great for me. You can try that one too)
