My daughter is almost 9 weeks old and she just recently has started sleeping like 6 hours straight, a baby that is only 4 weeks old wont usually sleep more than 3-4 hours at at time, he needs feedings once or twice during the night. You may want to try this though, it helped with us.. try to start a routine like giving him a bath, maybe reading a story to him etc, then as you are feeding him before bed turn the tv off and only have on a dim light (like maybe the bathroom light with the door partially closed) and don't stimulate him with playing etc. You may try to see if a swaddler helps, sometimes when a baby is still only a few weeks old it will help make him feel more secure because he is used to being in your tummy still.. Then when he wakes up during the night do the same, dont stimulate him, keep the lights dim as you feed him, only change his diaper if needed and then lay him back down. We also got one of the warmers and put it upstairs so we werent trying to run downstairs to warm up the bottles etc.

Hope this helps..

Just be patient. At 3 weeks, it is very normal for a baby to wake up throughout the night for feedings. Both my boys started to sleep through the night at around 2 months of age.

Good luck!

This is an old remedy that my grandmother and mom used to do. its cat nip tea . its all natural and completly safe just boil the tea leaves then add a bit of water and a 1/2 tsp of sugar to the bottle. I did 3 oz of tea to 1 oz of water then the sugar. the natural herbs help to calm the mussles, but a baby that age still wont sleep thru the night this just helps them rest better. the tea is also good for baby acne or the bumps on the face. it pulls out all of the impurities and bad hormones that the mom left behind. The face will get worse first then better. you can buy the tea at the natural food store get about a cup of it. it will last a ling time. I only boil 1 table spoon to to 8 oz of water. Whoever said to use seditives is CRAZY.

you can try a warm bath right before you lay him down for bed. You can also put a little baby rice in his bottle that seemed to make my son wake up less cause he wasnt hungry as much, and there might not be anything that you can do my son was almost 1 before he started sleeping all night all kids are differant.

Trying to push? Is he constipated? Babies that age are not supposed to sleep through the night. They need to be fed at least once or twice in the night.

newborns ALMOST NEVER sleep thru the night. Your baby probably wakes up every 3-4 hours because he/ she is hungry... Hold him close to you, cuddle him while you're feeding him.. Make sure he is dry and it's not too hot or cold in the room..

your son is almost 4 weeks old.he is just undergoing changes and don't be anxious. if you could give him a massage before going to sleep but not during feeding time because he might vomit. then you could rock him to sleep. or play a relaxing song.

Give it some more time. His timing and sleeping pattern should get better now that he's a little older. Try swaddling him and see if that helps.
