My Husband is English and when our son was born we both decided NOT to circumscise him. Honestly, there is no real reason to do so. Why? So you son will have a penis like everyother boy in his school? So he looks like Daddy? So he doesn't "gross" out the girls??? All I feel are silly reason to put your newborn son through a terribly painful procedure. Keep in mind, not all hospitals use any sort of medication to either numb the penis or dull the pain for the baby.

Unless that Mother was there by her son's side while he had the circumcision done, she would not know if he screamed/cried or not. The Nurses won't tell you that your baby was screaming or in pain after the procedure. Too many people think it is "less painful" for a newborn as it would anyone else. As if their nervous system isn't as sensative as yours or mine!

It is a personal choice. It is your choice. But just make an informed, educated decision.

Best of luck

I answered longer on your other thread, but point your wife in the direction of that long thread, where lots of other people are agreeing with you, and have given good literature for her to read about to make a more informed decision rather then "it's ugly"

Good luck!

I think it all depends on where you live and what the mass population is doing.Since I live here in Georgia,USA, I had my son circumsized.I wanted him to fit in with the majority if the population so he won't turn off the the girls when he is older. If I lived somewhere that they don't do it I would leave it alone.I have dated a couple of men from Europe that were not circumsized and it just grossed me out because I was not used to seeing them that way.If you do it,do it right away.Less pain and discomfort for the baby.My son didn't cry at all. They have numbing meds now.Good Luck.

No word of a lie, I wanted my boys done. But I left the decision up to their father. He has a penis, not me. What ever made him comfortable.
We didn't have our boys circumcised.
