Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 October 2007

Hi, I'm 38 and I've been on Yasmin BCP for about 18 months and have fallen pregnant. I'm wondering how this has happened. I do remember about 6 weeks ago feeling sick and upset in the stomach so could that have affected the pill and stopped it from working properly? Has anyone else fallen pregnant while on the pill? Is the pill really 100% effective to prevent pregnancy??

My daughter turned 17 in July should i let her go out with her frends drinking, i have said no but she says all her frends from collage go out, if i do let her out is insisting that she is picked up by me ureasnable.

Hi, I went in at 16 weeks of my pregnancy and my doc told me that she is 90% certain that it is a girl. My mother in law has been buying tons of pink baby stuff and now I am a but worried that it might be a boy. The ultrasound showed the baby playing with it's cord and the legs were crossed but she did get a glimpse between the legs and said it looks like a girl. What do you think? Anyone experienced something similar?

the point is she's totally up herself and thnks she's the most fabulous ever born!

she wont shutup about how pretty she is and how good her body looks and i just role my eyes everytime.

shes always saying how many times shes been shopping, how much shes bought (she'll ring me just to say she bought 13 shirts or some crap) or how tanned she is.

she just wont shutup!

i really want to tell her that, but she'll make my life miserable and steal my bestfriend whcih shes already started to do.

she wont shutup about how guys think shes so hot, but she has never been asked out or nething so wats her problem.


i think shes insecur, but shes always saying how inseecure this person is because they are saying mean things abuot this person, but she bitches so bad behind peoples backs.

After a BM I noticed one single spot of blood in the toilet. When I wiped there was nothing there and I havent had anything since the one spot in toilet. Should I be concerned? No significant cramping or pain, what do you think it could be. I have my 1st visit on the 5th should I call to be seen now or just wait and mention it at the appt? Thank you!

I'm a big lady. I'm 166cm and 108kg. I'm just wondering from other fellow big ladies out there how soon did you start to show that you were pregnant? I'm currently 10w 2d pregnant. I think that it may be 5 or even 6 months before I start to show as I don't have a flat tummy anyway.

i was almost 3 weeks late on my period, im usually never late on my period,i have taken 5 pregnancy tests and they all came out negative, i also feel sick most of the time lately, but all of a sudden i have come on my period but it is 3 weeks late and lighter than usual, i have been to my doctors and am going for my blood test tomorrow morning but just wanted to know what anyone else thought as i dont want to get my hopes up too much

Why are you so short minded? I mean, I am from Romania, and here, it is legal to wear two pieces bathsuit at 10 years, and here you are telling that at 13 is too younger. i B.F. my little girl for 19 months, and my sister didn't and every one who asks alwways has a comment about what we did, or didn't do.
i was told that i B.F. for too long, and should have stopped after 6 months,and my sis was told that she didn't try hard enough with her bubba.
i've also noticed that a few of my friends are so worried about what others are thinking of them and how they feed their babies. do any other mothers feel this?

Our daughter started kindergarten a month ago and a boy with a record of problems and bullying was reseated next to her. At first he was just mean, i.e. erasing pictures, small punches, kicks, etc. Then one day he grabbed her wrist and poked her three times with a pair of opened scissors. Then he cut off a few inches of her hair. School principle and administrators have no plan to remove him citing his 'right to and education'. We are networking with parents, lawyers, media, anything to get this kid out. We think he obviously needs a special setting or help of some sort. But the school is steadfast saying we can move our kid if we want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we are both highly disgusted, pissed and at our wits end. Thank you.
