Today me and my husband were getting ready to go out for dinner for my birthday. I guess he let my 3 month old lick his finger that had whip cream and frosting on it. Well later on about an hour he was screaming and crying for about 45 min. What will sugar do to a baby? Is that why he had such a bad stomach ache? I mean he didnt feed it to him he just let him lick his finger. And dont worry my husband got a mouthful from me!! Sometimes I dont know where his head is.He didnt know you cant give anything to babys like that. But does it give them back stomach aches. Hes already colicky.

So, I'm 15 and I have known this boy since I was young [which I don't remember]. He played with my brother, and his older brother was friends with my cousin. He is 17. Well, I started "dating" him when I was 11. He is the nicest guy you would ever know when he is not partying, or hanging out with his friends. His mom died when he was like 11 or 12. He has had a hard life, and I get sick of his immature ways, and I hate how he tries to fit in.

Eight months ago he got put in a drug rehabilitation center. Whenever he went to the D.H. I would always write him and support him [which I probably shouldn't have]. This time, I only wrote him three times, and I have not spoken to him in a month in a half. He used to try to call every day.

I guess he got tired of being hung up on, so he stopped calling like a week ago. I feel guilty for treating him this way, but he needs to change and on his own!! How can I stop feeling so guilty?? Am I wrong for doing this?? Thanks

I am 20 weeks pregnant and I cannot seem to kick my smoking habit. When I found out I was expecting (at about 6 weeks) I was smoking a pack or more a day. I have cut down (as per my gp's advice) to 3 a day. My GP told me it was dangerous to quit abruptly so she told me to slowly cut back.

I should really have quit by now but I am find it really hard to kick my 3 butt a day habit. I am wondering if anyone else out there has gone through this and what they did to break the habit.

Please no discrimination, I am aware of the consequences...that is why I am seeking help

And not preach to them all about breastfeeding.

We all know breast is best ,so here's the thing that is a little annoying .

When mom's on here ask questions about baby bottles, such as which are best and which one's did everyone use or which are good for colicy babies, it annoys the crap outta me that instead of just answering the question everyone is soo quick to preach to them about breastfeeding instead. Some women cant breast feed, some just dont want to . Formula works great , never been proven to be harmfull. So I guess im just trying to say that we should all just answer the question and not deviate from it. It just annoys me that instead of answering the question some people just say breast feed instead . They dont even bother answering the question. Im sure I'll get tons of answers saying I'm all kinds of bad words but I'm just commenting. Im sure other mom's out there get annoyed just as much as I do about this same problem

I think I'm pregnant, and would like some advice. My instincts tell me I am, and I feel like I'm already having symptoms. I have been very emotional, and I'm having abdominal cramps. I know I'm not about to start my period because I just got off of it about a week and a half ago. Anyone had experience with this?

17 year old daughter was caught with a friend shoplifting. The friend was arrested because she was actually carrying the items and my daughter was let go after I spoke to the police as she was not holding the merchandise.
I am heartbroken, disappointed and frightened for her and need to come up with a suitable punishment for her involvement. Yes, we've talked and she seems remorseful, but I need to make a stand about how unacceptable this is.
Any thoughts or ideas out there?

I have a friend that has a 10 year old and I let her bring him over all the time, I'm practically his godmother, etc. He has an ipod, a cell phone and a laptop, he's a smart, self proficient good kid.
I was left home alone as early as 8, I did my homework, heated up food, watched tv and went to bed, no problem. Yet, my friend still has people watch her kid when she has to work. He constantly needs moms attention, it's annoying. I think he's old enough already to do his own thing, he can bathe himself, fix himself meals, he does his homework on his own, he's FINE without some adult hovering.
What age is acceptable to leave your kid home alone and quit spoiling him and sheltering him so much?

My one year old will not stop pushing the on/off button on the tv. There is no way to disguise the button and we put her in time out for it. I don't want her to ruin it. It's a very expensive big screen. Any suggestions?

Ok, my husband and I have no idea what to name the baby if it's a boy. I just looked through a list quickly and picked some names that jumped out at me. We have an idea of what we want to name it if it's a girl.

Boys:
Jacob
Andrew
Adelai or Adlai (pronounced Adalay) (I like this one, either as a first or middle name)
Noah
Xander
Gabriel
Zachary

Girls:
Katherine or Kathryn (we'd call her Katie) is the main name we're looking at. Most of rest are middle names.
Hazel
Sophia
Elana
Amelia
I literally started thinking of names tonight. I put it off because my husband isn't here but he sent me an email saying we should start looking into it. He's right. I'm not a fan of picking out baby names. I'm always afraid I'll stick them with a horrible name! We like traditional, yet unique names.
What do you think?

My cousin is naming her daughter Patience. She doesn't like that spelling and thought of spelling it Payschience, but we all think that's too long and it will take forever for the girl to spell it. So we're trying to come up with shorter, easier spellings for the name. It can start Pa, Pae, Pai, or even Pay, but we don't really like the Pay... Thanks for the help!

My first child would not latch on, so I think I'm just going to pump all the time and feed my new baby (due in Jan.) breast milk from a bottle. Does anyone have any suggestions on which breast pump would meet my needs. I don't want to spend over $150. so please keep that in mind when replying... THANKS!!

I have a two year old daughter. She is soooo diffrent then when she was a year and half old. Of course, She's two... But she talks back, shes mean to her friends, She doesnt listen. I have tried spanking, and that just makes her more aggressive. She spanks her friends, and counts to 3 then yells at them. And I hear her yelling at her baby dolls like I yell at her some times. I tried putting her in time out,and she just keeps getting out, and it doesnt seem like it's worth the effort to fight with her about it. It's just getting out of hand. Any other suggestions??

Is a domestic adoption possible, and is it ok if our other kids are bio children? Their ages are 2 and 9, and we want more children but we would rather give a home to a baby who needs it than have more kids. Is this possible for a domestic adoption, in the US?
