It's Russian, spelled Mikhail. I don't like it with Jonas.

Yeah, spell it Mikhail.
For some other options, names starting with "O" or "N" will flow well with the middle sounds in Jonas.

I think you mean Mikhail, like Mikhail Gorbachev, former President of the Soviet Union, or Mikhail Baryshnikov, the Soviet male ballet dancer. Generally a Russian name. It's the Russian form of Michael.
