Today me and my husband were getting ready to go out for dinner for my birthday. I guess he let my 3 month old lick his finger that had whip cream and frosting on it. Well later on about an hour he was screaming and crying for about 45 min. What will sugar do to a baby? Is that why he had such a bad stomach ache? I mean he didnt feed it to him he just let him lick his finger. And dont worry my husband got a mouthful from me!! Sometimes I dont know where his head is.He didnt know you cant give anything to babys like that. But does it give them back stomach aches. Hes already colicky.

What about the whip cream. I mean hes been colicky since he was 2 weeks. And he would cry for long period of time but I have never seen him scream and cry like he did tonight. I could be just freaking out about it but you never know.

One little lick of sugar is not causing your baby's crying. It didn't hurt him. Hospital nurserys have been known to give 5% glucose water to babies at times (this isn't done very much anymore). Some nurseries also use a sweetened liquid called Sweetease to put on a pacifier for them to suck on during painful procedures like circumcision or lab sticks. It actually decreases their pain level and they tolerate the procedure better. What your husband did didn't harm the baby, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. It has no nutritional value.

Sugar will do nothing to the baby, it may have been the dairy in the whipped cream, but not the sugar, that is a big myth told by mothers to not let their kids eat sugar, i give my kids candy and they can go to sleep the next minute, when were camping they have smores, and then i send them to bed and nothing they go right to sleep, ITS ALL A BIG LIE!!! but they dairy may have given the baby a stomach ache, at 3 months old they are not used to the regular dairy, and it can upset the stomach also if it was cold that might have upset the baby's stomach too they a re used to warm cereal, and warm formula, or breast milk which is also warm, it may have been the temperature too but its not the sugar and don't blame sugar especially in a finger full of whipped cream!!!

My baby had lick of ice cream on my bday is was 3 months at the time he was fine. And that was Grandpa who feed him. If's he's colicky then that's probably why he was screaming not a from a lick.

I've never heard of such a small amount of sugar giving a baby a stomachache. You say he's already colicky - probably just a coincidence.
It isn't uncommon for babies to teeth as early as 3 months - could that be the deal?

Well it was probably just coincidence but you said frosting was on there and if it had anything the baby might be allergic to in it, such as peanut or anything like that it could cause a tummy ache from the reaction. But its probably just coincidental, and you Husband was probably just trying to be nice ( We know they aren't always thinking as much as we do). But sugar itself isn't going to hurt the baby, formula has sugar in it, and in the hospital they sometimes give babies sucrose bottles which is just sugar water so it's alright.

I don't think your baby was screaming from the sugar (some moms used to dip the pacifier in sugar so the baby would suck it - I tried it once and felt guilty). Are you sure he had a stomach ache? I gave my daughter a lot of stuff (frozen yogurt, strawberries, peanut butter, etc.) when she was a baby that "they" said not to do and she's now 2 1/2 and perfectly healthy and normal.

i don't think the whipped creamed has something to do with ur bub stomach ache, unless he got a sour whipped cream lol
he might be cried because of something else ... sugar won't harm baby in term of stomach ache ... sugar just not good for teeth and can cause diabetes

you can be fortunate to discover one for this rate and loopy to believe that a worrying breeder could allow one pass that low cost. Like any one else stated your most cost-effective guess is at a puppy retailer however joeys that come from a puppy retailer typically are malnourished and no longer very social considering they arrive from glider turbines (which once more is why you should not purchase from puppy retail outlets) you will be ready to discover a rescue if you happen to appear tough ample however I could assume spending a minimum of $one hundred for the brand new glider by myself and a different $one hundred fifty on housing meals toys and all that well stuff. I would think that the dairy may have upset his tummy and the sugar didn't help. Hey, at least now your DH knows;-)
