Some people know they are pregnant before even taking a test. Others take a test and get a negative result, only to find out they are pregnant, despite the test results. This can happen if you just missed your period, or for other reasons. Here are some signs to look for.

Steps

1. Buy a test. Don't just buy a one pack, buy the two pack. If your period is just a day or two overdue, your test might result in a negative, and if you don't have it a week later, you'll want to take another test, so buying a two pack is handy. It can also confirm the first test, in case you don't believe it.

2. Be aware of your body. Do you suddenly feel "ripe?" You might feel kind of thick and juicy, like a ripe peach.

3. Keep a notebook by the bed. Often when you are pregnant, you will have vivid dreams.

4. Think about your tastes.
* You might notice you are craving things you normally don't think of, and it can range from one pregnancy to another, from fruits to steaks to watermelon...it's not all about pickles and ice cream.

* Often you will be repulsed by things as well, certain smells, raw meat, even images of war or violence that once never bothered you can suddenly turn you away or make you feel sad. You get hungry more often and if you don't eat, you may feel nauseous until you do eat.

5. Keep track of your emotions. You might feel emotional about little things, cry more easily in movies or when hearing a sad story.

6. See to your senses. Your senses are often heightened, especially tastes and smells.

7. Monitor how much you need to go to the bathroom -- if you're pregnant, you may need to urinate more often.

8. Examine your energy level. You might wake up and feel extremely tired within a few hours of waking and need a nap
.
9. Tender or swollen breasts are another frequent sign of pregnancy. Granted that many women's breasts become tender and sore during their menstrual cycle, a tingling sensation that accompanies the swelling is not common with menstruation.

Tips

* If you have a lot of these symptoms, you shouldn't rule out pregnancy (unless you have been abstinent). Even if your test reads negative, you might still be pregnant. Wait a few days and re-take it or go see your doctor.

* You may notice pregnant women wherever you go. (It's like buying a certain kind of car, suddenly you notice others who have the same car too).

* You may have a desire to clean or rearrange your place (nesting).

* Don't count on morning sickness to tell you what's going on. Many people do get sick and throw up, but not everyone.

You did not say your age, if you took birth control, or if anything as changed in your routine. There are many things that can cause a late or irregular period. It ranges from illness to stress. Let the doctor work this one out. No one here can give you a clue. Pregnancy is doubtful since you already took 5 tests at home.

Congratulations for seeing your doctor! You didn't say if you saw a general practitioner or your OBGYN (gynecologist). Your doctor is having you do blood tests to rule out any health problems that a laboratory can find by testing your blood. Your doctor might have told you that when he/she ordered the blood test.

Did your doctor's office have you fill out a 'medical history' form? Your medical history helps your doctor to rule out hereditary medical problems.and he/she should have gone over that form with you during your examination.
If you're not sure about your family medical history ASK your parents, siblings, aunts or grandparents. It's important information that can be very helpful to your doctor. If you don't know your family medical history and have no one to ask don't worry. It will just take a little more work, on your doctor's part, to find out what's going on and if there's anything to be concerned about.

Remember. No question is a dumb question when it comes to your health and information your doctor or nurse can give you.
Also, if you have any questions of your doctor or his/her nurse, write them down and call their office or, if you can wait, bring them with you on your next appointment.

Don't rely on answers about your medical well-being from strangers that don't know you and likely have no medical background.

I really gotta get that internet pregnancy test kit going. In the meantime, just go to your doctor and have a blood test done.

usually pregnancy tests are done after a month when you missed our period. how many days did you had your period (lighter than usual?) perhaps better not expect.. anyway, it is better not to so that you'll not be disappointed when the result is negative. good luck!

Well, if you recently had sex with your bf/husband, you might be pregnant. But better take another pregnancy test(not a home test) and make sure.
Good Luck!

Well Tiffy, I do not know what is in your mind, but if you ever had sexual relationship with someone you like and he has done the sex thing to you and you know that it has been settled then you might think your pregnant. But if not then you might think again because no woman can get pregnant with out the sperm of the man. Get it?? If not then your not even human. Think about it........!!!! ;-)
