I am a single mom of 3 boys. One of which is almost 16. He is beginning to sprout a mustache and beard, and I dont know how to teach him to shave...We have a male family friend that I could ask, but it feels like imposing...Is there any advice on how a woman can teach a boy to shave without cutting himself to ribbons?

ask a relative that he is comfortable with,or good friend of yours and his. my daughters boyfriend had the same problem- single mom and no one to ask for help, my husband-her stepdad- showed him how to one afternoon! it worked out well and helped them "bond" a little! good luck, i feel for you.

Definitely ask the male family friend! He may feel honoured that you both trust him enough to teach your son something like that, and you aren't out anything by asking!

If you still feel like you don't want to do that, some hints from the male in this house is make sure the skin is warm and wet, after a shower is the best as the skin is more supple and the hair is more soft, use enough shaving cream, make sure the blade is sharp, don't hurry and always shave in the direction of the hair growth, even down the chin area, don't flip the blade around and come from the neck upwards!

you will desire to start shaving once you start up looking too scruffy from a vulnerable and patchy mess of facial hair. in the adventure that your mustacheis like the only i became incredibly proud to own at 15, that's a mild dusting of dark hair that tints your bigger lip, yet isn't probable an actually mustache which you will comb, trim and gromm. in case you desire to shave it off, decide for it. I prorbably would desire to have besides, yet i became too happy with it. Shaving is all approximately coaching, and the kit/supplies you employ. Prep.=a lot of warm water,, a warm bathe, or warm wash cloths. maximum shave cream crap-in-a-can is cleansing soap based which dries and irritates your dermis. you desire a shave gel or cream it somewhat is moisturizer based and full of lubricants. attempt King of Shave Alpha Gel or Clinique Shaving Cream. you do no longer desire or desire those far greater than-priced 5 and 6 blade razors. an user-friendly disposable 2 blade razor works super and saves $$$$. do no longer shave a zit ever! It turns your razor right into a micro organism spreader. The Alpha Gel is clean so which you will truthfully omit those bumps. constantly, constantly shave with the grain or path of beard advance. in case you have a difficulty section, you at ideal would desire to shave around the grain. under no circumstances against! end your shave by way of employing an oil-loose moisturizer. This prevents your dermis from cranking into overdrive to interchange the floor oils bumped off by way of shaving. Shaving takes time, and could be enjoyed.

They make some very good electric shavers now that aren't all that expensive. And in the long run with the price of blades, they are alot cheaper and less dangerous in the long run. Norelco and Remington are good brands. With electric, all he has to do is put the head of the shaver to his face and move it all around, simple.

Well I'd use a razor and a lot of care.
Lips bleed real good so just tell him to be real careful.

I have included a site about wet shaving it tells how to avoid razor drag and bumps and more.

Don't make a big deal out of it.
It's shaving, not rocket science.

Tell him he looks ridiculous with two long hairs sprouting from his chin, here's shaving cream and a razor.
Instructions: Apply cream, scrape it off with razor. The end.
