Just keep putting him back in it. If he's climbing out its time for a toddler bed, so he dosnt end up landing on his head or hurting himself.

Just keep putting him back in his bed. help him get settled and then leave him to fall asleep completely.

That's about the age when we replaced the crib with a twin mattress on the floor. Just the mattress, no bed frame or box springs. They will eventually roll off the bed. But with just the mattress and padded carpeting, DS didn't hurt himself, and it only took about 3 times before he learned on his own how to keep from falling out.

Both my kids did this around that time. They slept in a playard for a short while, but then insisted on a bed. You can put the crib mattress (or twin mattress, if you have it) directly on the floor until he learns not to roll off.

Its normal. Is he climbing out? I had twins that did that and was afraid that they would get hurt. Buy a twin bed and he should be fine or even a kids bed. He may not want to sleep on it but he will learn. He may crawl on the floor and fall asleep but when you see hes a sleep pick him up put him on his bed. Or you can just keep putting him on the bed. Place hime there walk out and keep doing so until hes asleep. maybe hard on you but have to keep on. Kinda like time out. She him whos boss this age is cridical and needs to know now that he does as you say or he will over power you.

my son started doing that around that age too so I switch him to the transitional bed (the 3 in one cribs have that option) I had no problems after that

sounds like he wants to do what the grownups do. It's time for a twin bed.
