I don't mean the everyday longing to be home with them.
Does anything happen regularly to you while you are at work that gives you that overwhelmingly urge to be with your baby?

I bathed my son this morning & still smell the baby shampoo ;(

Wondering if others go throught this too.

Jennield,
Years ago, when my kids were small, and my youngest was only 4 I was working full-time, and oh how I missed my kids!! I couldn't get off of work fast enough to go and see them, especially my youngest!! The thing that bothered me the most was when I would drop them off at the babysitters....My two son's were fine, and didn't cry at all... But my daughter, (the baby) screamed & cried and faught the sitter so hard, I was afraid she wouldn't want to babysit anymore for me. And it took almost a year, before she'd quit the crying when I'd leave her with Rosey (the sitter). So, my biggest sadness at work, was going through the day feeling like a "Schmuck!!" For leaving her, while she was screaming for me!! I could still hear her cries for me, and just flat-out feel so "Guilt-Ridden" for leaving her!! Not my boys so much, cuz they just loved their babysitter!! But, my daughter just couldn't adjust as easy as they did. And thank-God my sitter was a very patient one!! She sat for me, even when they were sick, or had doctors appts. she'd take them to their doctors for me, for almost 3 years!! She also made pretty darn good money off of me!! So, anyway I'd have to say my hardest trigger was still hearing my daughter crying in my head most of the first part of my work days!! It isn't easy being a "Single-Working Parent"..... Good Luck to you, it gets better the older they get. Mine, are now teenagers. And this age has problems all their own!! HaHa!! NOT Funny!! Smile!!!

In short, everything! People unintentionally make you feel guilty and it really sucks. I had to go back at 5 weeks and I was so sad but the bills have never paid themselves so you've got to keep on keeping on. Photos help some people feel better but it just made me feel bad. I spend every minute away from work with my baby and this is what makes me feel better. It's knowing that I'm taking care of my baby when I can.

many things! I had a picture of her as a wallpaper in my pc so I see her often. I change her diaper in the morning before leaving and my hands still smell like desitin yuck (I have washed them several times!), and I call home several times a day to check on her and the nanny put her on and she laughs and gets all excited to hear mommy speaking I just wanna squeeze through the phone and kiss her. It's hard :(, now you made me miss her more LOL

My daughter has just started to smile and we finally captured it on film, and I made a mistake of putting her little smiling face as my screen saver. Now everytime I close out a program, etc. I see her face and it melts my heart and I want to rush home to see her

Matts Mommy: That is about the sweetest thing that I have heard :- )

I know this is going to sound funny, but my 15 month old says "HI" all day long. When someone happily says "Hi" to me at work, my heart melts.

I also have, wait let me count, OMG 15 pictures of him on my desk. 3 framed photos, and about 12 that i just printed on the color printer here and pinned up on my carpet wall!

I see her pictures on top of my computer! Or when something happens outside, like one time we had some low flooding, and even though I knew she was totally safe up at the sitter's, I still wanted to just be with her.

Every so often at my desk, I all of a sudden "smell" her. You know how babies have that certain smell about them? I smell hers. Usually this happens right before I leave work.

I have no triggers....I constantly miss my child and yearn to be with her. I keep her at a daycare close by the office and pay dearly to do so, but she's so close I go by and see her on my lunch hour everyday. The only highlight of my day...keeps me going.
