I am a single mother. my daughter will be two in december. i stay home with her because i can't work due to a muscle disorder. i meet with other mom's who more or less brag about how well their child is doing. learning her letters and already potty trained. it makes me feel like i am holding my daughter back. i don't make her sit down for 3 hours a day and have study time. i bought flashcards and we work on those for 30 minutes a day. my daughter is into everything so more than 30 minutes she would lose interest. she has a large vocabulary but she doesn't use it. sometimes i feel like maybe she would be better off being in a daycare. i just don't trust anyone watching my daughter. i took her to a babysitter while i was still able to work and she came home with bruises and marks all over her back and butt. she's happy with me. My sister(really my best friend) has two little boys and i take my daughter over there and she has a blast. She does have interaction with kids her age. is it nor

I like names that are not too off the wall, but nothing that is widely over used. I would prefer the first name to start with an R and the middle a C. Boy and Girl names please. Thanks!

My friends husband is spanking her 2 month old twin babies. Everything on here says to start spanking early, but to me this is just plain sick and abusive when they are so tiny. I dont think they are old enough to even do anything deliberately wrong, so I dont think this is right and I plan on going and giving him a strong talking to. They are so little, the biggest is just over 9 lbs! Their butts arent even big enough for two fingers! It makes me feel ill...I know my friend hates it and told her husband to stop. I told her to get away from there if it goes on any further, and told her she could come stay with me for a while. I dont know if I am doing the right thing, but in my heart, I am afraid for the little ones.

I was horrified! I gave someone a baby gift and they actually told me that they didn't like it! Is that EVER acceptable? I thought it was adorable...it was a cute little outfit with matching socks and a bib - it was Winnie the Pooh... I thought I was safe with that.

I thought if you didn't like a gift, you should just politely say "thank you" and then you can return it to the store on your own time! Do you just blurt out..."I really don't like the gift you gave us." Especially when I didn't ask if she likes it!!!

We've already switched schools, unfortunately the bullying is continuing after school. It is to the point where we are unable to let are children go to the park and ride bikes and have fun with the other children in our area.
Aside from teaching them to kick these kid's butts (which I'd love to do, but know it won't help) or even better, sending my husband over to their house to kick THIER dad's butt, what do we do?
I've had one encounter with the "mother" and well, needless to say I know exactly why her children are they way they are. She's a complete MONSTER.
Any ideas?

I know it sounds like a disgusting question, but I want to see if anyone else who is pregnant or was ever pregnant experienced this. For the past two days my stool has been dark with a greenish color to it. I feel okay otherwise, but I did come back positive for beta strep, so I am wondering if this has something to do with it? I tried looking into this on babycenter and other sites, but I do not see any info about it so I am wondering if this is nothing to worry about.

Has anybody else ever have this? I will call the doctor of course to explain what is going on, but I just want to see if anybody else went through this. Any feedback would be great.

My son loves to sleep on my chest
and lately hes been waking up to eat and change but then wont go back to sleep
hell cry for an hour or two, even with me holding him and nothings wrong with him.

But the last couple days hes slept on my chest and still waking up to eat and change but then will fall right back alseep. I put pillows on the side of me, just in case, even tho hes nevr rolled off, and i dont move.

I love this now because i can actually get some sleep. but i will feed him and put him in his crib until he wakes up for the first time at night then ill put him on my chest, then after that hell want to stay on my chest all night, but then will go in the crib again in morning.
So basically its only really late that he wants to do this,

Is he going to want to do this all the time,
hes only a week and 5 days old! but im just afraid hes going to want to do this til hes way older and sleeping through the night. Has anyone had a similar issue?

my friend and her partner are trying for a baby, she has been off the contraceptive pill for alittle over a month and was due for her period on monday, she is now 3 days over, she has taken a few pregancy tests, the first test showed she wasnt, but all the others, (these tests are very very predictable , such as i think clear blue) said she was, but the line in all the pregnancy tests saying she was, is very pale, and not at all strong, (like mine, my pregnant line was very much dark line.

she is very confused, she has seen a doctor and he took a preg test, and it says she isnt, but he does however think SHE is, just that the pregnancy hormone is very low at the moment? she has to go back in a weeks time? with thoughs tests she took at home, (even though the lines were weak) surely it means she is pregnant? with all four tests coming up with "that" line however faint it is?

i know of a 1st grader, smallest in the class, who's being bullied. the teachers say, "we don't allow that". the child's grades have gone down, acts out at school (no problem at home), saying that if he/she gets in enough trouble, that maybe he/she will be sent back to old school. finally i requested that he be seperated from the bully in class and sit somewhere else, grades going up, behavior in class has improved, no more "heart pains".... but bully still causes problem at other times.

i remember an "Andy Griffith" show, where Opie was being bullied and Andy (the sherriff) and Barney (the deputy) taught Opie how to defend himself and that he would have to stand up to the bully. that's the way it used to be. it worked. the bullies never bother u again after they know ur going to stand up to them. the school has to change their thinking and let kids take up for themselves. who do you think is doing all the suicidal mass murders at the schools? it's the ones who were bullied.

My son turned 3 months on the 24th. On a normal day he eats every three hours, he was a 34 weeker and has kept the same feeding schedule. He is normally a very active child during the day but the last 24 hours he has been acting different. He has slept in the last 24 hours all but maybe 2 hours. My husband and I pick him up and hold him upright and he never awakens. He is not even crying for bottles. I am having to make him eat every 5 hours and he never opens his eyes. Anyone else had this experience? I called the doctor and they said he should be seen but they couldnt see him until tomorrow.

I have a 15 month old, and we've been using swim diapers all summer. I just don't see how they work. Whenever we got out of the pool water would run out of the swim diaper. The entire crotch would be soaked with what I presume is just pool water. Are swim diapers made to make parents and other pool patrons feel better about swimming with pee, or do they REALLY work?

Hi,

My husband and I are ttc for 10 months now and my Dr. has put me on clomid this month for the first time. He also would like to do a progesterone test at cd 21. What will this test tell me? It just so happens that my cd 21 falls on a Sunday, so should I go in on Friday or Monday to have it checked? Thanks in advance!

She had a normal stool as usual. She hasn't been constipated or shown any signs of discomfort. The blood wasn't runny and only appeared on the stool. I have been keeping an eye on it but it happened about 5 mins ago. Should I be concerned? Possibly serious? She has no health problems and is a typical little 2 year old. Thank you!!!
