TAKE HIM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM!!
HE'S NOT OPENED HIS EYES IN 24 HOURS???
DOES HE HAVE A PULSE??
CALL AN AMBULANCE ***** NOW ******
EDIT.......
DON'T TAKE HIM TO EMERGENCY ROOM, CALL AN AMBULANCE, people who come in an ambulance get seen faster... generally. something is wrong... u need someone who can access it immediately and that would be a medic. you going in to an emergency room by yourself will not get as much attention.
edit
CALL AN AMBULANCE.... NOW!!!!! 911

Hi sweetie,
I am a mommy of three and I know well the concerns you are having. All my boys (ages 10yr,7yr, and 14 months) would go through "sleepy days" when they would seem to sleep all day and worry me out of my head. My little one still does this on occasion. If it continues for more than 24 hours I would suggest a call to the pediatrician. If he spikes a fever or has any other symptoms, call immediately or go directly to the E.R. I know it is hard not to worry. You keep checking his breathing, don't you?!? Keep picking him up hoping he will wake up and be his normal alert self? Sounds familiar. Good, you are normal!!! Keep an eye on him, keep doing what you are doing. This all sounds normal for ones that little. Please post later with an update. My heart is with you.
Love and luck--MissDelanne

He's probably either going through a growth spurt, breaking in a tooth, or coming down with something. As long as he eats, pees, and poops normally, and isn't having any trouble breathing or running a fever, he'll probably be okay until tomorrow. If you are really worried about it, go to Urgent Care clinic or the ER, but your ped is probably going to be able to make a better diagnosis.

I would take him to urgent care today, or call the doctor back and ask for a referral to someone who could see him today. If he's running a fever, I would even consider taking him to the emergency room. You're the mommy, and you, more than anyone can tell if something just isn't right.
Best wishes for you and your little one.

Don't you love doctors!!
He could be going through a growth spurt, but if he is not even opening his eyes I would take him in to the walk in or Emergency room. Things can progress quickly in little ones, I would not wait until tomorrow. Sometimes another doctor in the same office will see them too. Dehydration can also set in quicker than you think. And they have always told me if your child is lethargic which is what your son is, take them in asap.

if you are extremely worried, take him to the ER. Especially since his doctor did agree that he needed to be seen. When my daughter was that age, there were days I thought she hadn't been awake at all. It is probably just a growth spurt. Also, if he is coming down with something, he is going to sleep longer than usual.
The sleeping isn't the biggest concern. The concern is how difficult it is to wake him up.

If the primary dr cant see him take him to the ER and the Pedi on call will see him. Thats my suggestion to you as both mine were premature and things like this sent me to the ER or my dr scheduled me in on what is called a "stand by" which ment you go to the clinic and if he has time between patients or someone shows late your seen.

I would take him in just to be sure but it may just be a growth spurt. Some babeis handle it more by sleepign what seems forever. My second born once slept 12 hours without wakign to feed.

I'd get a new doctor! You are the best judge of your son! If you feel something isn't right then he needs to go! Maybe he is coming down with something? Has anyone in your family been sick? Has he been exposed to anything? Is he running a fever? Is he cutting teeth? Thanks I hope you figure out what it is! sarah

This sounds too unusual. I never experienced anything remotely like this with my children. If he doesn't even open his eyes, take him to the Emergency Room. Don't wait until tomorrow. You will never forgive yourself if something happens between now and tomorrow.
