I am travelling to see my sister who lives about 10 hours away on thursday. I need advice and suggestions on how to keep a 2.5 yr and 5 yr old occupied. I know they will sleep some of the way, and I am asking my best friend to borrow her portable DVD player tommorrow but that isn't going to keep them occupied the whole way. I have got 2 new colouring in books and pencils/markers and some small toys and books but am looking for other suggestions or what worked for you on a long trip. I will be travelling by myself (hubby is working) so I don't have anyone else in the car to help me out and can't stop every 5mins either as I don't want to travel in the dark. I plan on stopping at least every 2hours for 15-30mins so this is figured into the 10 hr trip but they have never done this long before so I don't know how they will handle it.

Can anyone help!!

whats the difference. can you have one done just for fun basically or do you need a reason. i would like to have one done asap as im dying to find out sex of baby but my 20 week scan is in 4 weeks...also i would like to have dvd to show my 2yr old to help get him used 2 the fact that he will be a big bro etc is this a good enough reason

It's been 4 months and still I'm not pregnant. I've been getting upset thinking the worst...and I'm gonna schedule an appt. just to make sure I don't have a cyst or something. Because I've been having some pain in my stomach and some discharge. Any advice tho so I don't fall from hopes so high all the time or tips?

me and my partner had unprotected sex twice yest..never done it before always used protection but we feel if i was to get pregnant it would not be a bad thing..whats the chances of me gettign pregnant? how often does a woman get pregnant after just a few times with no protection? we decided only to do it yest and will use protection from now on. if i fall prgnant it was meant to be and if not..well we will wait abit longer. we had had a emotional wkend and we just felt like it was the right thing to do. i love him so much and want to be with him for the rest of mmy life..and even tho we have only been datign 3 months i know i want his baby...how many ladies out there got pregnant easily?

well i've always been prolife, but now i find out I'm pregnant with a third child who's father was abusive. I finially got out of the relationship and just started getting my life in order, and I had to go to the er and found out i'm pregnant. i can't keep this baby, it's gonna be hard enough with the 2 I have. But here I am who always said you should never termite a pregnancy but I'm considering doing it. I'm so lost and confussed. What should I do?

I'm concerned about my friends baby. Since birth, I have held many concerns for the baby but every time someone has tried suggesting things the mum gets upset and the dad has let most decisions be made by the mum (in regards to feeding, sleeping and bathing routines). Both mum and dad visited my not long ago and the baby is now 13 months old. She is probably 9kgs (is this small?) and seemed so small. yes she comes from a petite father but she seems so small for her age and doesnt eat much. Her mum fed her vegetables (beans, carrot and brocolli steamed) and half the time she chucked it. porriage for breakfast, sometimes a banana or a piece of bread here and there and probably 1 jar of baby food a day (if that). and only drinks water and maybe one breast feed a day. this doesnt seem right for a growing toddler who is really active!! i'm not a mum yet so dont want to judge but i'm concerned. also i may be fussy but i plan on bathing my own kids daily, even twice daily yet this kid..TBC

I am trying to find boys and girls names that are different without being odd or out of this world, a name that cannot be shortened (I am not a fan of Benjamin, Matthew, etc) and something that doesn't end in 'an', 'en', 'on' or 'in' (our son ends in 'an'). A name that has a meaning related to water would be a bonus. Our surname is Kennedy too.

I was so strict with my daughter, balanced out the fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy etc. When my son was born life was chaotic, he developed epilepsy and became difficult (gorgeous, but had behavioural issues). My husband was away a lot and it was easier to give my son what he wanted - mac cheese, crackers with too much salt, food with pastry. Now he won't eat any fruit except apple, and will only eat vegetables mixed in dishes like zucchini slice or pasta. He won't drink milk, he only drinks water. He craves sweets and chocolate which I try not to give into but sometimes it buys peace. I always clean his teeth.

I know I did the wrong thing. So how do I start getting him back to eating healthy foods - obviously he won't just start eating fruit salad and throwing back the broccoli in one day. Any advice would be appreciated!

I mean, surely they must realise how *damaging* it is to a child to experience academic and social achievement, even to feel satisfaction in a job well done?
Where will the craziness end? Back in my day, we *learnt* the value of being uneducated, and look at how open minded and clever I've turned out to be?
Maybe *some* very *selfish* mothers should not work, home school their children, grow their own vegatables, and weave their children's *non-teflon coated* clothing from discarded drain hair?

My older brother (24) and I were walking down the street from the gym. 6 other guys are walking towards us, around his age. My brother told me before they crossed us "Watch them move out of our way". When they come towards us, they move right on to the grass.

We both started laughing, My brother told me, see how they just moved out of our way? If you're a tough looking manly person, people who are self concious, look bad, are weak, will just move out of you're way because they get intiminated.
My brother is a bodybuilder, who I agree is good looking, is 5'10 and 205 lbs.

Is this true of what he said?

Are you mostly angry BIRTH"mothers", or just pissed because you got landed with crap parents?
I for one am an adoptee, yes, shock, horror, gasp, through an AMERICAN DOMESTIC ADOPTION, oh my God! and I'm sick of hearing these ungrateful people bagging adoption in each and every case!
Nobody says it's ALWAYS wonderful, but sometimes it is. Not every person who has sex and makes a child can be a parent. Plain and simple.
Sorry for you that you got crap parents, but what do you think non-adopted people with crap parents do? They don't have an adoption soapbox to stand on!
So what exactly is your problem?

I am worried so I am wondering if this has happened to anyone.My daughter was 8,2 when she was born and at her 2 week check up she was under her birth weight.The doctor said it could be because she sucks so hard she is burning more calories than she is getting,my daughter would take 10 min to drink half an ounce and my doctor said she should be drinking 2 ounces in 10 min.She said for me to try a stage 2 nipple so the flow would be faster.I have my appointment on Tuesday to weigh her again to see if she has gained any weight.She has been drinking better since I changed the nipple,but I am still worried.How much should she be drinking,she is 3 weeks today.She drinks 3 ounces sometimes 2 at other times.Any thoughts would be great as I am a wreck

I have been 100% sure a 10 year old girl was mine. I never saw her. In two days I will know and i am not seeing it. The mom has her doubts. I want her to be mine. My son is 4, is it normal that he had a "sexual" experience??
Ok, not like a "sexual sexual" experience, ok here is the story i just got from him.....we went to my inlaws tonight and he has a cousin that is 4 also. They were playing in the kid room and i went in to check on them and they were under the blanket. I made them stay out from under the blanket from then on. When we got home i asked my son about it and he told me that he pulled his pants down and rubbed his goober on her and kissed her on the mouth and so on.(thas the just of i She told him to stop it and he did. I have always taught my son that he can talk to me about anything at all, and i am glad that he does. I remember playing "doctor" when i was his age and do not think it is a big deal. I mean i wont be leaving him alone with a girl again, but...not unnatural. My husband on the other hand thinks it is deviant behavior. Am i to lax about it and my husband is right or is he going overboard?? Children are just figureing out thier bodies, i think it just felt good to them..

Say this child was anywhere from the age of 2 to 10. At age 2 I would probably give them a spank on the hands and at age 10 a spank on the butt. Say for instance you are at my house and your child is running through the house repeatedly. For whatever reason you aren't disciplining your child. I get tired of seeing them act up so I jump in and ask them to stop. They stop for 3 minutes and start back up again. Next, they're sitting in my couch indian style with their shoes on. Again, I wait for you to get involved but you don't.

I finally, in a FIRM voice ask your kid to stop or otherwise they are going to get spanked. Would you get mad at me? Would you get up and leave or would you say something to me?
