My older brother (24) and I were walking down the street from the gym. 6 other guys are walking towards us, around his age. My brother told me before they crossed us "Watch them move out of our way". When they come towards us, they move right on to the grass.

We both started laughing, My brother told me, see how they just moved out of our way? If you're a tough looking manly person, people who are self concious, look bad, are weak, will just move out of you're way because they get intiminated.
My brother is a bodybuilder, who I agree is good looking, is 5'10 and 205 lbs.

Is this true of what he said?

this is certainly true.

but this comes with consequences.
if someone tough asks for help, people will still be intimidated and try to stay out of the way. you can't make friends with people who are intimidated.
if someone tough expects people to move out of the way, that person becomes less likely to move out of the way, and will probably end up bumping into a lot of people at the most inopportune times.

there are also people that move out of others' way simply because it's easy, and not because they are intimidated.

No, it means you and your brother are rude and arrogant and the other guys had no interest in your macho posturing.

You and your older brother are going to be dealing with people who aren't physically intimidating on a regular basis - job interviews etc. Maybe even some of those guys from the street. They won't move out of your way then, they'll just hire someone with a better attitude.

So true what Steve said. You cant be the peigon all the time, sometimes you have to be the post.No matter what your size, better safe than sorry.Tell your brother to be careful. Sometimes people are crazy and they carry knives and guns. Some people may step aside not becaue they are scared, but because they are educated and polite and dont want to get into a street fight. But there are other who love it, so watch you way.

Nope! Your brother is being confrontational and sooner or later he'll encounter an object that won't move. Being tough in life means a lot more than being able to intimidate people. Wading your way through hard times and coming out on top is the true measure of a person. Being resilient! Life's gonna shoot you a lot of unexpected things: illness, lack of funds, career disappointments, even death. You can't intimidate your way out of those things.

Your brother is a looser... There is always someone bigger... Always someone smarter... He lives in a fantasy world.... Prepare yourself with a good education... Make friends and relationships with people.. They will take you further in life than physical intimidation.... People will avoid him and he will end up lonely... Probably why he spends some much time in the gym...

no, your brother is high on himself. Most people move because they are courteous other are just going that direction. If six guys really wanted to fight you I'm sure the odds are against you and your brother. They weren't intimidated by you.
