Okay here is the long and short of it all. On Sept 18 I took a HPT it came back positive. I have been in shock ever since. I have gone to my OBGYN, which was on Tuesday, Sept 25. Her nurse did a pg test which cam back positive as well. She did an ultrasound where she said she could not really see anything as it might be too early to tell if I really am pregnant. She said this bc I had a full miscarrige at the end of July 2007. My OBGYN ordered blood work and told me to come back in two weeks.

Here is my question. I have been having "crapping like" pains in my lower back and in my pelvic area too. Are these just symptoms of pregnancy? If not should I really be all that worried about it? I am planning on talking about it with my OBGYN the next time I go but that again is in two weeks.

Please help me with this. I am really starting to get freaked out by these small pains.

When I found out I was pregnant I also worried about absolutely every pain and anything that just felt abnormal. I also had bad back pain and was very worried. So I'm going to tell you what my doc told me: It doesn't help you worry about everything, you're going to do more harm than good, I know that your body is going through extreme changes but it's all NORMAL. I'm 21 weeks now and still get funny pains and twinges. I was at my obgyn yesterday and he is very happy with my health and my baby's. Everything is normal and I believe it's because I accepted pains and stretches as normal and nothing to worry about. If there's blood or other abnormalities then I would be worried but if it's just "small pains" don't stress about it, just relax and allow your body to do it's thing.

Good luck and enjoy the pregnancy!

The big thing is that the ultrasound showed that it's not a tubal pregnancy. I too had little cramps in the beginning of my pregnancy and my midwife said it was because my uterus was growing and stretching. I felt these little cramp like pains for the first trimester.

Could be just normal stretching. I started having cramping around three or four weeks. Doctor said it's just my uterus stretching. It was really scary because they would just come out of nowhere, I would just be walking and all of a sudden feel a sharp pain that would take about thirty seconds to go away.

Depending on when you ovulate you might only be a few weeks pregnant, and it would make sense not to be able to see anything on the US.

Period like cramping is normal with early pregnancy.

Wait until you're blood work comes back, your hormone levels will tell you what you want to know.

Mild cramping is normal. Something that freaked me out with with both pregnancies is when I would get up and feel a sharp pain on one side. This is normal too, it's stretching pain.

there are so many random aches and pains in pregnancy. yesterday, for no reason it seems, my left leg was hurting around my thigh, almost like i had stretched a rubber band tight around it. bizarre. yet, normal for pregnancy. hang in there and take some deep breaths. there are going to be lots of weird pains. they do not indicate miscarriage or that anything is wrong. with a miscarriage you have lots of pain and bleeding. this is certainly not that.

You may have something else going on and your HPT could be making you have another miss carriage. Pain full cramping at this stage is not normal. I'm sorry you going through this.

I wouldn't wait till your next appointment to ask your doctor. Call them now and they will want you to come in and do a physical exam. It is too early for the cramping to be your uterus and ligaments stretching. And you need to be at least 12 weeks in order to hear a heartbeat. An ultrasound won't be affective until you are around 20 weeks so they can measure the baby. Don't wait, please call your doctor so they can help.

I had mild cramping in my 1st trimester. (I'm now 21 weeks) It's fairly normal... basically, your uterus and the muscles involved in pregnancy are starting to stretch and get ready for carrying baby! Good luck to you!
