I am 19 weeks prego. Last week I had my complete ultrasound and thank God everything was okay with the baby and his/ her developement. HOwever, he/she had his/ her legs closed so we couldn't find out the sex. Today I see my OB for a check up and he has an ultrasound machine in the office. I don't want to be pushy but should I ask him to take a look to see if he can tell me the sex? Should that be an issue? What if he says no? I have been disappointed twice already thinking that when I get the test done I'll find out what my baby is and then nothing ever happens. Some advice would be nice...and it would cheer me up..lol. Thanks!

I have herd to many ultrasounds can be bad for the baby. But ask if he says no look in to getting one of them 4d ultrasounds done. Some places let you come back for free if they can't tell the 1st time. Plus you can really see your baby really clear almost like a picture

You can let him know you really want to know the sex, in most cases if they can they will do another US. he might have to make you an appointment in a few weeks. Unless they have a medical reason your insurance wont cover it, so they dont always do on per request.

However, you can go to hospitals with the new 4d ultrasounds and pay to have one done. Its more a novalty than anything, and they allow that sort of thing.

better than probably, your physician is powerful. The ultrasounds and docs can do the ultrasound exceptionally as we communicate because of the fact they do them regularly and understand what they are seeking. mutually as they do go incorrect, i doubt your physician might have instructed you something if he didnt think of he have been given a sturdy adequate seem to tell. The chinese language lunar calendar isn't very stable. it rather is been incorrect with the two considered one of my infants. The neckless over the tummy ingredient is a accident...this is an previous different halves tale, and not something greater. goals are additionally purely that...goals. i became pregnant with my blonde haired blue eyed daughter and dreamed that she had black hair and ate crimson velvet cake...they are purely goals. My physician has constantly been impressive. i wish this helps.

I'm sure your doctor would be happy to try again if you want to know. You have to remember that he WORKS for YOU. You HIRED him - he's getting PAID. Don't ever worry about being pushy - you're not asking for him to do cartwheels up and down the hallway, afterall! Congrats!!!
Best Wishes - hope I could help!

ask anyway, he can only say no. I am sure that baby doctors are used to excited parents driving them crazy about the small stuff as well as all the other importaint stuff. If this is a good doctor he /she wont get mad.

It never hurts to ask....normally you hav to wait 20 weeks to do a full scan ultrasound. but you're close enough...go ahead and ask...he'll probably say yes.

If you can afford it or if you have insurance that will pay for it, then why not! Just keep in mind that if you are dealing with insurance you may have to prove that it was "medically necessary".
