For the past five or six days I've had a lot of irregular Braxton-Hicks contractions. They come all day long, anywhere from eight to forty-five minutes apart. Could this be the beginning of labor, or is it normal to have them like this?

No. That's completely normal. I get BH contractions every few hrs. It does not mean that you are starting labor. Don't be so quick to jump the gun, you've got a little while longer to wait. Hang in there :)

BH contractions are good because they are getting your body ready for the labor.
The main difference between Labor contractions and BH contractions is the regularity. BH will happen randomly, and will often not be from above. Labor contractions will happen from above and at regular intervals.
Some women have a lot of BH and some have very few, but your description is not unusual. Its just your body getting prepared for the big day.

Those are normal. I got them a lot during my last few weeks of pregnancy. I always got excited because I thought they might be the real thing but they are just preparing your body for delivery and moving the baby into the correct position. When you get the real ones you will know for sure, they aren't near as pleasent or tollerable as Braxton-Hicks! Good luck!

It is normal but when the contractions start coming quicker and faster you need to go to a doctor.... My sister thought she was having Braxton hicks but we noticed she was in pain a lot and the pains were coming quicker... (she was also 36 wk) We drove her to the hospital (45mins away) she got in the hospital and we found out she was dilated 10 cms!! she had the baby 10 mins later after we arrived at the HOSPITAL now her baby is a month OLD baby Girl! (premature)

ought to circulate the two way... ought to intend you have become close, or might mean no longer something. i'm approximately waiting to pop and that i've got been having sturdy and accepted BH constractions for a month plus. And, i think sharp pains in my cervix, so i presumed i became dialating. Nope. rfile saod I also have a the style to circulate. there is purely no thank you to appreciate. Your rfile can do an inner to work out while you're dialating in any respect, yet different than that all people is man or woman.

Yes it is very normal when I was about 37 weeks I started getting them, but my stomach would also get very tight. They start happening as soon as you start getting close to your due date. But remember when they start getting 5 or 2 min apart thing you are gong into labor. Good luck on your newborn its wonderful .

yes its normal! and nothing makes me madder than one of those dr's that tells you they won't hurt. on the positive side of things, they do help you dialate and get your body ready for the real thing, and you can practice the timing thing. congratulations on the coming baby!
