I live in california and attend a public school. There are security cameras on campus that are very visable. Lately there has been a rash of thieving. I know the person that stole, and i dont want them to get caught; however i heared that there was a "hidden camera" the room, where property was taken. Is it illegal to have a hidden camera in a public school, and if so what if its called "evidence"? can it be dissmissed, or will it uphold in court?

Should police be used to gather intelligence? If required to work more closely, do you think state and local law enforcement agencies would cooperate effectively?

There was a cop on his horse waiting to cross the road when a little boy on his new shiny bike stopped beside him.

''Nice bike,'' the cop said, ''did Santa bring it to you?''

''Yep,'' the little boy said, ''he sure did!''

The cop looked at the bike and while handing the boy a $20 ticket he said, ''Next year, tell Santa to put a license plate on the back of it.''

To go along with the cop, the little boy said, ''Nice horse you got there sir, did Santa bring it to you?'' ''Yes, He sure did,'' said the cop.

The little boy looked up at the cop and said, ''Next year tell Santa to put the dick underneath the horse instead of on top.''

My son in law was tazed as part of his training yesterday. Today he has diarrhea and is throwing up.

Could this come from being tazed or is he getting sick?

I had a New Jersey driver’s license with 7 points on my driving record for 2 speeding tickets. I changed my driver’s license to Connecticut driver’s license about a month and half ago. As I understand, due to interstate compact states exchange information about violations. Today (after 1.5 months since I received my CT driver’s license) I went to Connecticut DMV and got my driving history and to my surprise it says “No violation on record” with 0 points. Can anyone please explain how this could be possible since NJ and CT are compact members and share violations / points with each others? Does this mean that I have a clean slate now? Thanks a lot.

I want to hear some suggestions about how to escape the oppression of bullies without the help of authorities, especially bullies that have power to fire you, throw you in prison, or worse. I prefer non-violent answers but am open to all intelligent suggestions.

A friend of mine had a road rage incident, and the guy flashed a badge. He thinks he was off duty. We argued about wether he could give him a ticket, even if he wanted to? This is in the Minneapolis, MN area.

Here is the situation. My brother was released on parole. A year after being released he was arrested again and they put him in jail we paid the bond and then they threw a parole hold on him. He has been in jail now for a year and 4 months, they have not violated his parole or charged him with any new charges. He has not been arraigned on anything. They are just holding him in jail and the only reason they give is a parole hold. So how long are they allowd to hold him and are they violating his rights? He is in prison in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Like Sin City, I come from a small town and I know the cop is corrupt, but he thinks that he is the law, so naturally he is above the law. Meth lab in his house, made a minor move in with him and live there with him, or he would bust her on drugs. And, we are so worried about gang violence.

And since trigger locks do not interfere with the ability to use a gun for defensive purposes, should we have police officers have one on their duty weapon?

i stole my boyfriend's atm card without him knowing and took money out of his and his parent's accounts through his atm card. they found out that someone was taking money so they filed a police report and the police are suposed to review the video footage from the atm machine to see if they can figure out who took the money. if they come up with a picture, they will ask my boyfriend to see if they can recognize anyone. if they can prove that my boyfriend didn't take the money then it's considered fraud and the bank is responsible and they will get their money back and the bank will go after me. so if i turn myself in and accept all that will happen to me, do you think they will have to tell my boyfriend and his parents that it was me? can they just tell them that they found the person and the bank will reimburse them and then it will be between me and the bank and the police?

Ok last month i got stopped for speeding but he only gave me a driving citation. I was goin 51 in a 35. The speedometers don't work in the car. I don't have my license yet. I have my permit and was driving by myself. I didn't have an ID on me at the time. The citatation didn't have a price on it. I have to go to court 4-9. I love in North Carolina. I'll be getting my license the 26th of this month. What could happen when I go to court? Or, will the charges get dropped if I get my license before the court date? I got 2 charges on me.

....have accused both me and one of my friends of stealing our own car.

I got into a traffic accident about a year ago and after he let the other person go he told me that my car was registered under the name of some woman (i'm a male if you can't tell) , I actually argued with the cop whether or not it was registered under my name until he radioed in and they told him it was registered under (my name).

Now just half a week ago my friend who had just bought his truck was driving me back to my car in a WalMart parking lot, parked right next to my car and as I got out some cop pulled in behind us blocking us in, walked up to my friend's car and asked for his registration, after a long time passing he came back explaining that a truck that looked like his was reported stolen earlier that day. But it is ridiculous because the truck still had the plates from the dealership he bought it from.

I think
1) It should only be used on the roads.
2)It does not look smart- you look no different than a bin man or road sweeper & I feel this affects the respect you should command.
3)The whole flourescent yellow thing is overdone their is so much of it about now it no longer stands out.
4)I saw a copper the other day in the old style uniform helmet, tunic, long dark overcoat complete with shiney buttons & he realy did look the part a real figure of authority & like someone not to be messed with.
DO YOU COPPERS AGREE WITH ME ON ANY OF THIS ?

I stopped at a stop light in the wilds of Maine at 2AM awhile ago. After going on, a car pulled up behind me tailgateing and with high beams on. They wouldn't pass on straight stretches and I couldn't reach my golf balls to heave out towards them, so finally I came to a steep uphill and took her out of gear. After coming to a stop and starting to roll backwards they finally passed- turned out to be a cop. The town is known for having cops like that What can I do for society to get rid of them?
