He also marked heavy traffic and unsafe speed. It happened last week and i turn 19 tomorrow. Will it make a difference since this is my first offence?

(It is not on the back of the ticket. or else i wouldn't ask) He said it would be mailed to me in two weeks, I just would like to know how much to expect.

I am impressed by all these people who know what is written on your ticket! (In fact, in California traffic citations do NOT say on them what the fine will be, the court notifies you of that later, just like the poster said.)

Traffic fines in CA are fixed state-wide. For going 25 mph over the limit, the fine (with all assessments) is $266. Remember that you can go to traffic school. It won't save you any money (in fact, it will cost a bit more), but it will keep it off your record and save you the increased cost of insurance.

Most, if not all, jurisdictions in California no longer write fines on citations. Cops do not want to deal face-to-face with a motorist who would undoubtedly become extremely irate when presented with a ticket that has an exorbitant fine printed on its face.

Fines are usually uniform throughout the county, but not necessarily throughout the state. My guess is that your fine will be at least $200.

You are lucky you weren't dinged for Reckless driving, that'd be another point on your record. At least this way, you can probably still go to traffic school and not see an elevation in your insurance rates.

sucks to be you - you should have the price written on your ticket that he gave you. you should feel lucky - in Vermont if you go double the speed limit you automatically lose your license - at least thats what the law used to be. as for your first offense - it may or may not help you - its up to the cop - i would assume he didnt have any pity for you though since he gave you the ticket. happy birthday and try to lose some weight on that pedal. good luck
