I have been arrested several times, never was I read my rights. Somebody told me that it does not matter because when I go to court the Judge reads them to you. Someone else told me if they don't read them, your case could get thrown out. I live in CA.

6 kids in a neon. A baby was in a car seat and the other kids were not (ages 2-9). The car was parked in the lot when the officer pulled up. The officer got out and started yelling at the parents that they got there somehow and the kids lives were in danger. He took both parents to the rear of the car and yelled at them for nearly 45 minutes telling them CPS should take the kids away, they were lousy parents, etc (while the kids were in the car crying and unattended). I was watching these poor kids crying and terrified and at one point the baby was crying so hard she looked like she was choking and the officer had the parents with thier backs to the kids yelling at them. Was this inappropriate?

ok, i got a ticket for avoiding a traffic control device but here is the catch. the ticket says this happened at an intersection that doesent exist. here is a link to a map

you need to zoom in on the map all the way to see the roads but the map shows that leroy doesent auctually run into toledo rd because right where it curves and goes north is where reek rd starts so technically its reek rd and toledo, there is no intersection of leroy and toledo. should i fight this ticket and could i auctually win?

We have a gun that was given to us by my husband's grandma right after his grandpa's death. Partly in sentiment, and because we wanted a revolver in the house for protection because there is a serial rapist in our area. So, it is obviously not registered to us. If we ever get caught with it in our own home, or have to use it for protection, what would happen to us legally? Also, I like to take it in the diaper bag (in a lock box) when I walk with the kids alone since there are a lot of regeistered sex offenders in our neighborhood, even though it's a nice one. (please don't give me your opinion about carrying a gun, this is not what my question is about!) What if I was caught just having it in my possesion, even though I didn't use it?

My brother may have to register as a sex offender, does that mean he can't be around my 3 year old girl? If so, can i have him arrested if he goes anywhere near her? The reason i'm asking is because my brother doesn't live in my mom, yet my mom wants my daughter for a couple days. She told me that if she has Emma, she won't stop my brother from seeing my daughter. . . Can i have them both arrested for doing that?

If the cops come to your door and want to search your house, and you say "Go get a warrant," can they watch you or keep you outside the house while they go get the warrant? I read this in a newspaper article. The reason was to keep the suspects from destroying evidence. Can they do that?

I was pulled over for speeding 69 in a 35. The speed limit just changed from 55 to 35. I took a picture of my GPS that said I was doing 54 at the same time the officer said i was speeding. I also got a ticket for driving on a suspended drivers license but I got the SOS to fax me a letter for their mistake on my driving record. So I think that one is pretty much beat.
How should I go about defending myself so I can beat the speeding ticket?

i have always wondered about the workings of a grand jury. and why is it done in secret? say you are arrested for robbery why can't you go straight to trial why a grand jury first? and why in secret? please help me with this i just don't understand.
