Over the holiday I was visiting some family and friends in the state I used to live in. While getting a ride home from a party at 3 am the driver swerved over the line and got the car pulled over. No one was drunk but I was arrested for a very small amount of marijuana(I was a passenger and complied fully with whatever the officer told). I went back to that state for my court date and was sentenced to fines and a year of "supervisory treatment". I am now back home in the state which I currently reside(and have lived in for a number of years). I have received a letter from the probation office telling me to report there next week. My problem is that there is no way I can make it there. I am not trying to avoid or outrun the law and I don't want any warrants issued or have the police in my town here looking for me. If i contact the probation officer is it possible that he/she will either transfer my probation to the state I reside or will monitoring by phone or mail suffice?

I was thinking about how the police always gather fingerprints from a crime-scene and then need to find suspects and obtain their prints so they can match the two. But sometimes there isn't a suspect who matches those found at the scene. So isn't it possible for there to be a law which requires every U.S. citizen to have their fingerprints taken and stored on a database, so that why if there is a crime with fingerprints there wouldn't be a need for suspects since every person's prints have already been taken...it's just a matter then of having the computers match the prints. It would have to be mandatory though, like how we have to have immunizations.

I had a license suspension in 2002 which lasted until 2004. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long after I got my license back I have to keep a clean driving record?

It's been almost 3 years with no violations and I just got a bs ticket for speeding in TN (they say I was doing 17 over but I was only doing 7 over, my cruise was set and they "paced" me instead of radaring me!) I'm trying to figure out if I need to make a big deal of this and fight it so I don't lose my license but if I'm in the clear I'll just pay the fine and take the points even though it pisses me off the cop is a liar. I just need to know if I'll lose my license again if I take the ticket.

While driving through Tennessee we got pulled over and the officer said he "paced" us doing 72 even though our cruise control was set at 62 in a 55 mph zone. I know for a fact that my spedometor is correct and that we were driving 62 NOT 72. I think he just pulled this crap because we are from out of state and he didn't think we would fight it. My question is this; has anyone had a similar experience in Tennessee and if so what was the outcome? I have a previous suspension on my license so if I have to take this ticket they might take my license again. I am so pissed at those cops...do I have a chance since they didn't radar us?

I was charged with a crime at the beginning of 2001. Hoewever, I've heard nothing regarding this since. I'm too scared to go and ask the police in case they realise I'm worth pursuing. Can they give me a citation at any time, or is there a limit on the time from being charged, to being taken to court?

We tossed a young couple out of the hotel. They were fighting in their room. They destroyed appliances and light fixtures in the room while arguing. They threw these objects at each other. The cops made sure they left but they were not arrested. I understand it will be up to management what happens later.
